BIKE 1

I wanted an ar50 so bad but daddy was paying and found he could buy me a brand new bike for same money so I ended up with this . . . . . . .

It's a jawa dandy 50 ! I actually think it was the only 1 in uk could be wrong mind. If I recall it was purchased from needhams bikes in Doncaster a little one man old school bike shop.

To be fair it was a good bike and once I'd taken the washer from exhaust just as fast as the ar50 and mt50 my best mates had.

BIKE 2

Was a Suzuki 125 gamma

I got it as a wreck and stripped it all down, it took me forever to put it back together, had frame powder coated silver at a factory that made office furniture they put it through the machine with some metal desk ! , all the panel painted white it was ok and had an aftermarket exhaust but can't recall the name at moment, plus filter and jetting kit.

Did 90 odd mile an hour once but was often good for 80 just as quick as my sisters a ref leaded fuel fiesta .

BIKE 3

RGV 250 ! Actual picky of mine

Got it from my cousin who had owned 2 years paid 1100 well my dad did, f reg if I recall and mint. Drove from Yorkshire to Northampton in dads 7.5 tonne truck me dad and mum proper family event, never been so excited to go to aunts house.

I took half the street to get it onto back of truck.

Notice the 2 stripes of red paint are actually red and orange (ish) it had not been resprayed looked genuine so can only assume was a jap colour option.

I really did not know what I had didn't really know 2 stroke was good just knew I had to put it in the oil tank bit !, this was my only transport. Used for everything went from Yorkshire to Carlisle to my sisters on it and didn't even think about it (. Didn't really know 2 stroke was not really for this) !

I loved how it looked still do , notice in top right of photo jeans and Nike air max, that's me and that's what I rode in plus paddock jacket and skid lid.

Happy happy days

BIKE 3

The rgv blew up doing 80 ! !

And was sold for 300 quid to a scrapper , I know I know.

Anyway mum wanted me off bikes but dad could see how happy it made me and came with me to look in ahops. The first bike I really paid for myself, although it took a year to pay ( borrowed of dad again ! )

I had the wheels powder coated and fitted the rack, again only transport, wow ! I loved this bike

It was super mint.

Never had a single issue with my cbr600 was a r reg if I recall, and the best way to see my first long term girlfriend in hull, I loved riding back at midnight as her dad would not let me stay over a lot.

very fast down Clive Sullivan way then head down power on entering the m62. Still wearing jeans and a jacket at this point ! I was an idiot but so happy.

On a side note I got my first mobile around this time, was 18 just turning 19 at this point, the speed combined with a crap jacket ripped it from my lining. Ericsson flip phone. Didn't have a phone again until next contract, they were not ten a penny 15 yrs ago.

I got into girls big time in my 20's and never used the bike.

It was sold and for 7 yrs I didn't have one. Got a house and spent all my money on it, but I often thought about them and once in a blue moon got a go on a mates.

Rode all sorts from 400 to 1000 of other people's but not very often and only for a quick blast around the block.

Since having a house I've never had the money to get back on one, as well as the bike I needed all new riding gear which itself adds up !

last year I thought fk it and decided to get another, I looked at 1000cc sportsbikes to 400cc commuters, but I knew really another 600 would do everything I wanted. I tried them all in the 2k to 4K price range some nice stuff but I found the more flashy the less usable the bike was and I wanted to ride it not look like I could.

So it needed to do longish distance , good build , quick ish, keep up with flasher takle, tried r6 too race based, cbr600rr arghh my wrists, Suzuki srad hmm build quality just didn't do it for me, sv650 nice thing but bit steady, some ninja don't recall actual yr but dodgy history.

Anyway I ended up with another cbr, they just do all I want and more

Cbr600 f sport or fs2 or f4i it's the same thing.

Just been out on it tonight and it's great .

Thanks

interesting stuff, my first bike was an RGV250 which I learnt to ride on a very quiet road and extremely small throttle inputs!

I also bought an NC30 and a NC29 so had a few pocket rockets, out of all of them the nc30 was the nicest to ride, power band on the rgv was an alluring feature and the nc29 was a bit vanilla really.

My sis has cbr600, a 1997 which she has owned from 2001 and its never given her any jip - shes even low sided it and it still worked fine!
