Let's keep the Cadwell claims in the other thread. I'm impressed that on standard gearing you guys can out run a BSB rider though. That's some serious talent.
Did someone say standard gearing.

Let's say for one minute it's true. What purpose can it serve, other than to alienate the locals? It won't stop speeding, it won't deter speeding and it's a complete waste of money in leasing a very expensive piece of agricultural equipment at a time when budgets are very stretched. In fact, if it is true then I'm happy to front a campaign around misuse of police assets when they seem reluctant to investigate the theft of that sort of equipment from farms.

I just can not see it being true. That's not to say they won't spend a fortune on speed enforcement, just not hiding it in a tractor.
Please don't back track just yet Goon! laugh
No backtracking from me, I put forward a theoretical comment and ended it with "I just can not see this being true". I could advance the ad hominem approach with a binary comment, but I'll leave that to you with your tedious goon comments.

It will be interesting to see the polices responce to this,i very much doubt they will admit they are doing it as it blows there stealth mission, the fact a senior person has admitted he's ok with it says it all for most open minded public, after all they have earlier this year used used an unmarked hgv tractor unit,i fear with dwindling resources they will operate these underhand tactics more, its purely to pull in revenue in my opinion, ive waited an hour for a traffic car to attend a fairly serious accident and then an hour later passed 3 marked police bikes and an unmarked bike on the same stretch of road going out to catch revenue, made my blood boil.Four individual officers and vehicles looking for bikes and yet no one in a car to attend an actual crash, its become a business that needs to self finance in my opinion!

It's not a senior person, it's the Commissioner. remember those? They're the elected oafs with no grasp of policing and little influence over what actually happens in the ground. He's also just suggesting that they should use hidden cameras, not that they are.

Humberside publish their mobile speed camera locations too, so not that covert.

There is no evidence at all around this tractor unit.

Safer roads Humber do publish where they are Monday to friday, but Saturday and Sunday they put that they are visiting sites across the region. That is a huge area to cover

I said nice garage, although I'll admit to being a bit dubious of it. I'll stand corrected on that.

I 100% stand by the fact that the tractor photos are bullst. I don't couldn't care less how many people claim their mate got done by it, or whatever. For example, I got flashed on the M25 yesterday. It was awesome, as I was inverted at the time.

Somebody needs to find some proof that this tractor exists. Nobody has shown any proof at all. There is nothing from any of the dozens of credible media sources and a Google search for "hide speed camera hundpberside" shows this thread amd the phot form Facebook amd nothing else.

If it's true, then I'll pay your mates speeding ticket. In fact if ten people provide incontrovertible proof of it, then I'll pay for them too. Incontrovertible proof is not "much mate got a speeding ticket yesterday from it"
That could be expensive.

Lincolnshire Police borrowed a John Deere and had it decked out in police livery. Perhaps this one is also on loan.

Nonsense, its just a brand new shiny tractor, with no trailer or attachment, reversed randomly into a section of hedgerow with a tripod inside because the farmer with lots of spare time prefers to take the John Deere when bird watching. Frankly with that kind of utilisation of assets, its no wonder agriculture is suffering!

As stupid a tactic as it sounds, many things point to Loon wearing an egg tinted visor for a day or two.

I didn't write the article. The journalist contacted Humberside Police press office and obtained confirmation. I've been asked for a quote, but haven't said anything.

The photo was orignally published on facebook (as a public post), reposted here and elsewhere.

The DM has also published the story.
