On the topic of leathers, anyone got a two piece for sale?

I've always stuck to textiles as I sweat a fair amount and like to wash them and hate to arrive somewhere stinking but since i've moved much closer to my workplace I barely use my bike, only for fun, so leathers would be suitable again.

Nothing much on ebay for a decent price sadly. Wish I never gave my mate my ebay bargain Suomy 2 piece laugh

Matt.
I have an almost brand new dianese 2 PC suit that my belly has grown out of. What size are you??

My Spyke leathers were around £800 when I bought them in 2005 (so I consider them to be fairly good) and I was wearing them when I crashed in August. The perforated leather on the shoulder tore straight through and my shoulder grazed away a bit. Every other area remained in tact although I had some fairly large grazes on my right elbow and forearm even though they were safely behind a hard outer/soft inner elbow/forearm protector stitched into the leathers.

IMO, older leathers are almost as safe as they were when you buy them, but more modern leathers and armour will offer better comfort and protection through better design. This didn't stop me wearing another set of Spyke leathers that I bought in 1999 to test ride my new bike in though. smile

To answer your question directly. If you can afford to replace them, then I think it makes sense.

I've had to take up cycling (?!) due to the increased difficulty of putting my two piece on in less than six months - given up rugby this season and it is already starting to show!

mmmmmm... lyrca.

You do know that it's not a legal requirement to wear budgie smugglers on push-bikes, right?
