Personal bikes:

Aged 13-17 used on the fields:
DT100
XL185
RM250
Maico 440 (what a bd to start)

Aged 19 took my test on a DT175 (registered as a 125)

I waited many years to calm down, then bought:

KTM 450 EXC to go green laning
KTM 690 Duke 3 - first proper road bike
Moto Guzzi Griso 1100 - so much character
KTM 525 Supermoto - pure fun, a keeper
KTM 990 Superduke - way too fast for me at the time, sold it quickly
KTM 690 Duke 2 - one trick pony
KTM 950 SM - absolutely fantastic bike
ER6n - just wanted to try one, probably what I should have bought as a first big bike
CBR600 F4i Sport - wanted to go on track, can't believe how a bike this old / cheap can be so good
Honda Firestorm - nice bike
Yamaha FZ1S - meh
KTM 990 SM - a keeper
KTM 990 Adventure - too big and heavy
Speed Triple 1050 - a proper bike
Tiger 1050 - too heavy
Speed Triple R 1050 - loved it
Tuono 1000 '04 - horrid rattly thing
Street Triple R - prefer the Speed
GSXR 750 2011 - unbelievable performance, a fantastic bike but I couldn't ride it sensibly
Speed Triple R 1050 - a keeper
Kawasaki VN900 - I feel king of the road when I sit on it, a lovely bike to look at but I'm not a cruiser
KTM 450 EXC 2015 - a keeper

Currently looking for a 1290 GT which I think will replace the Speed R and 990 SM

I’ve been on bikes since I was about 13 racing mini motos and I’m 30 now but my list isn’t very long as I had a break until I was 24:

Minimoto - blata B1 replica
Monstermoto 125 pitbike
Aprilia RS50
Aprilia Tuono 125
Kawasaki ZX7R P2
Aprilia Tuono 1000R - still own, going nowhere
Yamaha Thundercat
Kawasaki ZXR400
Kawasaki ZX6R B1H - still own half of it but I got bored breaking for parts
Yamaha WR250F
Kawasaki ZX7R P1 - latest acquisition

Maybe I should try some other brands idea

1986 DT50MX - when I was 16
1988 FS1E - when I'd got fed up of the DT's pattern pistons nipping up in the bore
1983 GS125

then a very big break to 2014 when I passed my mod1/mod2:

VFR750FV - my dream bike from youth, in red. Found it a bit boring!
CB1000R - turned my head after a test ride, 0% finance, enjoyed it for 3 years
RD350F1 - a project, it's under my bench in bits and I really must get on with it
YZF600 Thundercat - when I needed to rein in my finances, I didn't get on with this bike, no surprise after a pretty torquey 1000 naked!
XSR900 - that engine. Handled poorly, the bike's geometry is a bit wrong, nose in the air and cheap suspension components
CBR900RRV - love it, have it to this day
R1100GS - I wanted to try a BMW Boxer, bought it cheap, sold it cheaper, oops.
VFR800FIY - I wanted to really like this, but again found it too 'nice' and not really anything
R nineT - new acquisition, love it for the old school boxer character, but it goes really well. I want to keep this one.

In order of ownership………

Suzuki GP100 - not sure the year but it’s the bike I passed my test on
Suzuki GSX250 - 1981 - got me to the Bol d’Or and back two-up
BMW R100RS - 1978 - did 80,000 miles on this one including two more Bol d’Ors and Le Mans - awesome!
Moto-Guzzi Le Mans II - 1979 - the Le Mans was my dream but never quite lived up to it
Ducati Monster 1100 - 2010 - looked great but a bit too small - I never quite fitted on it
KTM 990 Adventure - 2012 - adventure bike so I must be getting old!
Aprilia Tuareg - 2022 - smaller, lighter, adventure bike - I must be getting even older!

Not a big haul for >40 years. All bought used apart from the GSX250 and the Tuareg. And I’ve never had a bike with more than two cylinders.
