Sort out GSXR1000K8 track bike running issue and sell it. Injectors are being ultrasonically cleaned and put on a flow meter later this week hopefully.

Big service (48k) on the R1, stick some free secondhand Metz Z8's on it and use it when the weather's not too bad. I probably go out for more road rides during the winter than the summer.

Why not? I want to be able to fit my favoured tyres rather than having a selection of about two half decent ones. The handling is ok with the 16", but it would be pretty much impossible to put the 16" front on the 954 forks.

Gotta put up with a few months of hell riding in st conditions, then early next year buy something else.
Also need to wire the headlight on the deauville with a relay, treat the bike with anti rust, and fit some heated grips.

Because I did that, and more to an RRW and the 99 R1 I replaced it with in 03 shat all over it in just about every respect. If you want a better Blade buy a 954 or later.

Thinking the same - a lot more "accessible" than spanking a days holiday and couple hundred quid on a track day every time.

At least over your way open areas are easier to get to as well.

Aye I have 4 tracks within about 10 min of my house. Although I need to find out if you pay and play or if they are just used for racing which sadly I think 3 of them are. Im sure there must be plenty of green lanes around here to.

Blackbird is gone so I'm bikeless – the plan is to save as much money as I can and see what it will get me in March/April time. It might be time to scratch the Multistrada itch, go two-up touring, sell the bike and settle down with babies and misery.

Take the 996 out when the wet leaves and salt aren't on the road, as said above a chilly but dry ride in the winter is quite nice.
Carry on with the CB750 retro fettling, frame chop is done so it's seat making time.

Ride my CB400 to work and back and save as much as I can (less spending on petrol money for sunday blasts during winter) to buy a summer/touring bike (multistrada 1200s is top of the list) end of next summer. Oh and also plan some euro touring next summer.

Fix the Honda this week then ride it until it's sold.
Restore/repaint the YBR for Mrs Crofty to ride next year.
Get the KZ440 running right.

I will occasionally go into the garage and pull the dust sheets off the Blade and 1198, then lament the fact that neither need any tinkering frown

The Scooter will get a minor service - that covers about 10 minutes this winter.

I bought an RD350 F1 for restoration a month or two back, it's stripped and I'll be rebuilding it over the winter.

Other than that, trying to ride as much as possible, on those rare decent days!

Are you talking 900rr I assume? If you find out would you mind PM'ing me as it'll save me the hassle of doing the work.

I'm thinking the yokes and forks from a 954 should just slot in... shirley?
Yep, the entire 929/954 front end bolt bolts straight on, even the steering lock works. However I don't want nasty 3 spoke wheels. The easiest fix is the front wheel from an SP1 (if you can find one) which matches the rear, but I fancy something a bit different and I love the Marchesinis.
Ta very much! Been having a look around and some say you can retain the original 16" with a bit of a fiddle machining new spacers etc.
Also people say the 1000RR forks fit too which opens the option of radial brakes, have to use 929/954 yokes mind.

Plenty to think about...

Same as summer I rekon.
Look at it in the garage then wink
Pretty much.

The new car has taken the fun out of riding at the minute.

I'd sell it but I know that one day I want to use it I would be gutted.

yes

It's a slow slow project. Doesn't help that we're now rebuilding the garage & half the stable to get enough storage space to empty the kitchen out so we can fit ceilings etc, up till now the kitchen has been the workshop for everything I make for the house.

Making fireplace surrounds out of sleepers etc means things take a lot longer then buying stuff.
