Aye I have 4 tracks within about 10 min of my house. Although I need to find out if you pay and play or if they are just used for racing which sadly I think 3 of them are. Im sure there must be plenty of green lanes around here to.
I'd be interested to know where the green lanes and tracks are. Very tempted on an old Serow if I sell the CBR.

My winter plans involve fixing up the VFR (new radiator, maybe new relay or whatever causes it not to start currently) and maybe some restoration on it.

CBR will tucked up with an optimiser other than on dry Saturdays for a little blast. Then in spring probably sell it and either get a Serow or spend the money on the house and downsize to one bike.
Check out bywaymap.com

Not definitive but a great start and will give you an idea of whats where.

There are tracks in Middlewich on Warmingham. Another in either Norley / Kingsley im not 100% certain which area its called. If you go on the main road through Delamere towards Frodsham, turn right at the end and its not far up that road on the left. I think those are just used for racing.

Another one in Middlewich which you can see see from the junction on the M6. I also found one a couple of weeks ago while walking the dogs along the canal which was in Lostock I haven't got a clue how to find that by road though.

Thanks. A few restricted ones near me on the map. I'm surprised that Wales isn't full of them, I thought it was greenlaning paradise! (only from heresay, not experience unfortunately).
Anyone tried this? http://www.e-scape.org.uk/home
I fancy a go.

Fit muffs & gaucho, apply ACF50 and keep riding it every day through the winter, except snow & ice.

Yes its the Norley track, another one near Frodsham if you carry on the same road and turn right at the end of the sandstone wall and down the side of Ladyheyes.

Warmingham is race only and not very often.

I saw a guy on a crosser in leftwich so funny you say that, just riding along the pavement all kitted up!

My mate uses that big track near Wigan sometimes.

Tax is up on the XT at the end of this month, so likely SORN it and do a service on it before Christmas. Hoping to get some test rides in and decide whether or not to buy something else over deep dark winter - Jan/Feb time in the hope that someone wants to shift some metal cheaply.

I thought they were all race only? Alvanley and Mouldsworth are trials competition only. Good if these are not - I didn't fancy getting a bike that I could only ride with nutters in competition with no practice! Can't find anything on the internet about the Frodsham one.

Yes, most MX tracks are race or practise, you don't really want to be going on them if you don't want to share a track with mutters.
Greenland's are crap around here as it is predominantly flat.

There are pay and play tracks to go to that cater for novices.

Kit my new garage/workshop out when we eventually get into the new house!

My OH's folks have bought me a bike lift for the garage, so that'll be a good start smile

The rest will be tidying it up, making sure everything is held in place properly and its tidy. I need to work out how I'm going to stop it from sending all the oil into the airbox as it's getting a bit frustrating pouring so much oil into it on a track day.
Crank breathers? Had them blocked on a car years ago & that used to drink it's oil till I cleaned them out.

The pipes are all clear and it only seems to do it during hard use on track days. During normal road use it is fine. I've no idea what's happening but during a track day it will go through 3/4's of a litre of oil easily with no noticeable smoke etc.

Well the Ducati, the HD VRod and the R1200R are only going to come out on sunnier days. The K1300S will keep doing its solid daily ride.

I fired up the Busa this morning , first time in ages but she went on the button, I glugged a qantity of oil in the tank of the TZR too, just to help keep it nice inside.

After Saturdays ride out on the GSXR, I decided to tuck that away today..fairings off and cleaned.

Brake fluid was manky, so I changed it all and cleaned the calipers.

Oil and filter change

Thorough clean everywhere.

Chain , along with other metal work cleaned/protected with some cheapo engine oil.

Also had the tank up for a clean/inspection of all the hoses and throttle cables.

Not bad for a used 15 year old bike.

I had some KR1S pipes blasted in prep for paint for the KR1 but I found out last week they need some welding...

Once I have them welded/painted, ill be fitting them to the KR1 , having the carbs overhauled and getting that set up on a dyno.

Much to do on the LC...

Looking forward to it all thou.

The GSXR looks amazing, what do you use to clean the engine/rear suspension?

Also for the front callipers did you use brake cleaner, I found on mine when I used brake cleaner I could not get all of the brake dust off.
