I'm looking for a bike for a mate and find myself being drawn into buying a new bike myself

These 2 have caught my eye and seem to be very cheap for an 09 R1, should I be smelling a fish?

Maybe worth a phone call.

Are they reliable?

It appears there can be issues with the fly by wire throttle which is a bit worrying.

I love the look of them and the engines are meant to be amazing.

Very tempting!

Had no idea these were going for that money. That's what my 04 sold for.

Just found a couple of 08 R1's for 4k so they do appear to be out there but with their issues i'd assume at the bottom end of the price range

Minimal advert content on both and both 2.5-3k under priced. I smell a rat.

I've been eyeing up the black and gold ones all summer and they're no where near as cheap as that 1st one.

I sold for mine to a dealers for 6k 2 years ago with 17k miles on the clock.

The only problem I had with mine was a clutch that was replaced within 500 miles because it was grabby and a cam chain tensioner 1000 miles later.

It wouldn't hurt to ring and also do a HPI check.

Total scam IMO. One of them claims to be a London dealer but is using a Manchester phone number.

The back one is certainly a scammer. Says they are in London but the contact number is 0161 Manchester not to mention its about £2500 too cheap and the minimal content.

The blue one is cheap but could be a Cat bike ? The phone number is at least Bristol. Tried searching the company but no joy.

Looks fishy but may just be a bargain...................

The little Black caps on the Blue One that pop into the allen bolt holes on the top yoke are missing.

Maybe been a track bike, little bits like that are usually signs that its been on track with different bars, its all the little bits you loose like that.

Unless you're a fanny like me.

Yes they are about 2K under priced.

I must admit when I see a London address I am always a bit dubious.

To be honest with you I don't want it to be a bargain in Bristol as I may end up going down there this weekend.

Go on BM, give them a ring, I may also gibe them a call.
