Oh dear - you've realised what you've done haven't you?
Shall I count the Premier World Champions on your list for you?
wink

Ok, I tell you what, as I'm in the mood, lets take your analogy on a level....
In the early 90's - pick a year it doesn't really matter, to win a 500GP, you may have to beat:

Wayne Rainey
Mick Doohan
Eddie Lawson
Kevin Schwantz
Wayne Gardner

Compare my list to yours and tell me again that yours is "strong"
Go on - I double dare you.
Check your stats, you're looking at it with rose tinted glasses. Careers coming to their end, some not having won a championship in the time frames you're looking at, so wouldn't be considered a great at that point (like Pedrosa today), duff bikes and an engine configuration that meant most rarely finished more than 75% of the races in a season.

True enough, interestingly I called him out (pun intended) around his "gay" comment yesterday.

Intriguing point, that Marquez was 'slowing down' Rossi. How can that be? If Rossi was faster, wouldn't he just get passed Marquez and build some kind of lead? If Marquez managed to pass every other corner, wasn't he at least fast enough to compete? What I saw was an exciting and legit duel over 4 laps by two riders who seemed equal handed, nothing else. Seems to me like Rossi 'expected' Marquez not to interfere with his battle for the championship, but racers wouldn't be racers if they weren't totally and absolutely committed to reaching the finishing line first! If Rossi pretends Marquez slowed him down simply because he put a good fight, I think he's no longer a champion but a semi-retiree with a sense of entitlement.

No - one of the joys of MGP (especially compared to the lame act that F1 has become) is that the bikes rely on essentially mechanical grip and have essentially zero aero, so drafting block passing etc is actually very easy. That's the nub of it

Yep. His point seems to be that in 1992 you had to beat champions like Schwantz and Doohan, the only problem was neither had won a title at that time.

Oh dear - you've realised what you've done haven't you?

You've made yourself look a complete prat...

Rossi entered the premier class in 2000,winning the last 500 Championship in 2001 and then the MotoGP Championships in 2002 and 2003.
Considering the individuals in your list weren't even racing when he entered the premier class, how exactly does that make him a fraud?? He raced the people who were in the class at the time. Trying to make comparisons across the years is idiocy. Can you tell me Doohan would have excelled on a 990? Would Roberts have had the corner speed required on current MotoGP machinery?
You can't say, so to postulate they were better then is stupid. They were good in their time, nothing more.
Alternatively, should Rossi have employed Doc Brown and gone "Back to the Future" so he could race everyone including Agostini, Ivy, Surtees, Sheene etc just to prove to the cretins here his credentials.
For the record, Rossi has won 7 Premier Class titles, 2nd only to Giacomo Agostini. Not bad for a fraud wouldn't you say?.

But lets look at your list shall we....

Wayne Rainey.........3
Mick Doohan..........5
Eddie Lawson.........4
Kevin Schwantz.......1
Wayne Gardner........1

Wow, only Doohan comes remotely close....

Now try and make yourself look less of a tit

Go on - I double dare you.

Watch the video PROPERLY and you'll see who is at fault.
You'll see two Spaniards helping each other in Valencia.

Rossi got robbed...ROSSI IS THE ONLY CHAMPION the others can only polish his boots.

Well Marquez lent on Rossi then fell off LOL, Just have to hope for Lorenzo yellow flag overtaker to have a DNF in Valencia. Marquez and Lorenzo are working together. Hope Rossi also goes well on the new tyres next year. Come on No46.
Lol What race did you watch?
Bit of a Fanboy then?

Casey Stoner called this - ANYONE else would have been back flagged and docked all his points.
He deliberately ran MM wide. At the very least, unsportsmanlike, at worst - downright dangerous and bringing the sport into disrepute.
Stoner is a whiney whingeing poof!

Looked for this thread to see some reasoned thought - in the light of what I have quoted above I was obviously looking in the wrong place! Bye.

I have and I have to say, the overhead angle makes it look more like rossi said. Marc was definitely leaning in on him. I think they were both at it!! Oh well, at least should be exciting in Valencia. Makes F1 look sooooo boring!
