using the Autotrader app (I know very 21st century of me) I did a search for Fireblade CBR900RR with 929 as a key word

All of the sub 2k bikes havd 30,000 plus miles on them so relatively high. Are owners saying they would buy a bike with thoes miles on or are there low mile gems to be had 1 I found with 11K was 3.5k from a dealer
Eh?

30 seconds on gumtree finds a 929 for £2200 with 17,500 miles and one for £1950 with 23,000 miles.

You need to try harder!
Gumtree.....see I knew I was being Lazy

I wouldn't let mileage put you off a fireblade. Mine's done north of 39000 miles now and is still running and handling well.

Can I make a suggestion, with your budget OP, instead of limiting yourself to a particular bike, keep a more open mind and search by cc and mileage, for a price little over your budget(go and haggle hard!)

By looking at bikes between 700 and 1000cc , ( a decent GSXR750 SRAD is also a worthy contender) with under 15,000 miles, and with a budget of £2500 I found these, which may or may not be of interest but you get the idea.

The other factor of course is how far do you wish to travel for that £2000 bike?

Quite fancy this Trumpet myself...

First thing to remember is your not comparing new bikes ,there all cracking on in years mate,14-15 at least.

So you need to buy on condition first, a shagged "x" will always be worse than a well looked after "Y", especially on your 2k budget.
This totally - all 3 are great bikes. For £2k I guess you won't be looking to travel across the country for the right bike, keep an open mind & buy the best condition/historied of these 3 within a reasonable distance.

Whilst a GSXR1000 may be out of budget, perhaps a post-SRAD GSXR750 - performance will be nigh on comparable to the 3 bikes chosen, I found my 1000 as comfy as the Fireblades I owned previously (although I'm not as tall as you).

Thanks for that, in my case I posted on here a while back I am saving change in a tin with an aim of saving 3 to 4k (I am at about £1100 so far in 11 months without trying). Initially I really wanted a ZX7r as I loved the way they looked but have been drawn to low ish millage Zx6rs. The Thunder Ace replaced the Exup FZR1000 and apart from having a rubbish name I don't know alot about it but link you provided looked like a nice bike...not an R1 more a sports Tourer etc like the RF (A very cool bike in the mid 90's was often in group tests with the Fireblade). So your right CC and Price less than Make an model.
