I immediately went for car, but then on reflection realised that I could almost do without a car now, as I use the train so much and can walk to the station, so could give it up. Then I realised I can't get my trackbike to the track without a van licence.
In all honesty I could live without both now. Quite scary and one to make me consider buying a dull car next time round and whether I even need / want a bike anymore.

It would have to be the car for me too. I walk to work so no commute but I couldn't live with the winter months on a bike. I have never been so depressed as sitting on the motorway on my old bike, in the pissing rain and howling wind. I wanted to get on the hard shoulder and throw myself in front of a Lorry. Sunny days good, stty days, no thankyou.

Well the OP was far more clear cut in my head, I read it as either cars or bikes, no ifs, no buts. Things like I'll do with the bikes and the missus can drive are a bit of a cop out in my opinion.
It's a fantasy, so why try and find a workable compromise?

Ride on the roads. So much better than driving! My commute on my bike takes under 30 mins and has taken me well over twice that in the car.
It IS possible to ride a sportsbike through Winter, because I've done it for the last 15 and only got a car 5 years ago. I do also have a few YouTube vids of me sliding backwards down snowy hills on a ZX9R, though...
But above all, it's FUN! I love the commute to and from work, even though that's now into Birmingham City centre!
Can I still have cars on track, though, please?
