Buy a faster dog, get it to run alongside you.

Get a skateboard/skates and let the dog pull you to work
Remember to stick a headcam on the dog.

The dog got up an its front legs and started barking when it knew was time to turn off the main road. Not only was he happy to be there, but the little scamp was backseat-driving, too!

My old JRT did that when I had a MG. He'd stand behind the seats looking over the windscreen. He was reading the road too, as he'd lean in & brace before we even got to bends.

Get am MP4 thing and use larger back seat area to mount a dog box etc or even a can am spyder they are both bikes technically and will ofer wider load space.

In fact aren't Reliant Robins classed as bikes on your license so get a del boy type van job done. (My grandfather had a yellow van one like the trotters riding in it as a passenger was more terrifying than any other mode of transport ever)

Does a dog weigh more than a surfboard? If not then you are almost there with something like this.

Widen the U shape so he fits in, add some locking straps on the top, maybe shorten the uprights so his feet aren't on the ground and you are there. Actually if he could touch the ground at traffic lights it would mean you wouldn't have to.

I'd just use zip ties.

Kill it that way.

Givi's biggest topbox with a hole cut in the top for her to look out should do the job. Make sure hole is big enough for head and not rest of dog to get through.

Seen quite a few dogs carried like that. Mostly Jack Russells for some reason.

Doggles are a must for added cool points

Gets my vote. Doubles up as a one-time-use airbag-ish safety item as well. :-)

Plenty here zipping about in Barcelona, usually in the foot well of step thru mopeds but papoose, rucksack and topbox all work well.

You sound like a dog lover, so do the right thing and walk it in - 40mins is nothing, save the bike for when you don't need to have the dog with you.

Walk.

A dog on a bike in Glasgow is just too much for our fellow countrymen to deal with.

Besides, I walk my dog for an hour in the morning and then again at night, I'd kill to be able to do this whilst actually commuting! Think of this as an opportunity, not a challenge.
