I still at times think maybe I should get another. Loved it, the sound, style, did I say sound...

Was a fragile little critter though and that really bugged me. It shat half itself at the Isle of Man and after that I sold it

VFR400. Loved the noise, never quite got along with the handling on it. It always felt strange, should have tinkered with the suspension but thought I'd make room for other bikes. I sold it for more than I paid for it so no loss!

My ZXR 750J2 in Gitane blue is one that I really wished I'd kept. Fantastic front end on it and had some great adventures in France on it. I was only 23 at the time I owned it, so it was pretty special at that time.

She was called Christine, she was blonde, slim and had massive boobs. I gave her the boot because she was high maintenance. She ended marrying a traffic cop and had 2 kids.

I always hoped she had got fat and her knockers were hanging by her knees, which isn't the case after seeing a couple of years back.

Should have asked for a go for old times sake.

Two, both Triumphs.

1994 Daytona Super III; freight-train solid in a straight line, all day comfy and a real head-turner at meets. Stupidly sold when I got a cracking deal on a pre-reg Bandit 12 after Motorcycle City went tits-up and I couldn't afford to keep both.

1993 Trident 750; British Racing Green, immaculate, low-mileage, loads of fun. Sold after an accident messed my head up and I gave up biking forever (well, for 4 months anyway).

All the rest have just been fillers...

I miss my VFR750FV after I rode it into the back of a car. I only had it 4 months but was probably the best bike I had. I'm also sort of happy it went as I like my current thunderace and probably wouldn't have done as many track days if I still had the VFR.

Eight years later, I'm still not sure why I sold it.

2008 mk1 Versys. No particular reason and certainly not the best spec bike and by far the prettiest. It was the bike that got me riding after a massive off and it just did everything well without being great at anything. Had it 18 months and then spent money on much more exotic bikes. Tried going back to a mk2 but it didnt have the same buzz. It was right bike, right time. Toured, scratched and bimbled and cost very little. Ideal.

I´m with you there, it´s hard to sell a Duc, every single one of them has an individual character, nay... personality, that makes them that bit more special...
Never been a fan of those three spokes though...

My old ZXR400 even if it did have white powered coated wheels. Still it made me keep it clean.

If I hadn't already moved overseas I would have rebuilt it after being reversed into by a taxi.

I suspect my brother regrets selling his 748 (chipped with race carbon Termis).

I miss my VFR750 too, G126 EDY, honeymooned at the 1990 IOM TT on it and it's still taxed/MOT'd so it outlasted the marriage!! ;-)

My black/black/black 2007 R1, bought still crated and brand new in 2011. That was going to be my last ever sportsbike and I was going to keep it forever - some of it was paid for with money my grandmother left me, so there's some sentimental value there.

Stolen last year, and although I got a very good payout on it the bike was irreplaceable as effectively it was much newer than an actual 2007 bike and I didn't want a used one (they're also hard to find in an unmolested state).

Replaced with a new MV F4 which although undoubtedly a better bike, it's not my R1.
