I'm prone to cramp on the bike so sometimes do it to stretch for a bit.
I only do it when i have this and mainly use to my hip problems. I don't like having to do it but the only other option is to stop and get off the bike. Not always easy to do

The CBT must be done away with and some actual rider training and assessment should be required before the rider can ride any two or three wheeled vehicle with an engine on the road.

I felt so woefully underprepared to ride a bike after my CBT and I was amazed that it was legal to ride a bike with so little preparation.
I don't think you even need to do a CBT for the three wheeled scooters...a recipe for disaster.
I felt suitably prepared after my CBT, but I'd already had a car licence for the best part of 5 years so had some road experience.

Because Moto GP.

That is why you leg dangle when pulling away from the lights. It's all about balance and finite control on the limit of physics... innit.

I had been driving a few years before I did my CBT. I'm sure it's a very individual thing. I had no riding friends or family to pick up tips from.

One thing's for sure, there are far worse drivers than me getting onto bikes via CBT...

I dangle a foot off the RT but mainly only when I'm doing a racing start. The rest of the time its a bit pretentious.

Foot danglers are what the Piaggio 3-wheeler was invented for.

I'm a foot dangler, mainly my right foot as I pull away from traffic lights, I just seem to drag it for around 5-10 seconds, it's just a bad habit. I didn't realise it irritates other bikers quite so much, I shall cease this practice immediately!

By dangling a foot? And keeping all 4 other points of contact in contact?? Where exactly do you keep your plums? (If you don't mind me asking?)

Friend of mine (very tall) ran over his own foot whilst dangling them, still can't work out how...

I always envision broken toes from bumps in the road...

I passed my test in April, with the sole intention to just ride my enduro bike, which I spend a lot of time paddling through deep ruts and puddles. I'm now really tempted to get my first Road bike in the spring, and I'm a bit worried I'll end up draggingy feet or even worse go round a corner with my outside elbow up and inside leg outstretched in a motox styli. smile

I quite like the sensation of my toe on the tarmac as I pull away and will do it more as is annoys someone.

I know this topic has also been done to death fairly comprehensively but what foot do most people put down?
Depends which way it falls when I stop at the lights.

I like bouncing my toe as I roll along. Going to ride around like a 5 year old with my feet off the pedals of a push iron going down a big hill, from now on.

Same here. I have 999 corse ones, on the higher set of holes. it is my Left leg, after a series of sprited gear changes. I think i have to lower the lever a bit.

A friend used to do the lazy foot dragger and one day whacked his heel into a cats eye. That learned him, for about ten minutes.... Lazy sod.

I keep my right foot off the peg from the lights until I have momentum

If anyone has a problem with that come and see me

Don't forget duck feet when you eventually pop your tootsies on the pegs.
