Yes, but you look stupid.
Kids don't want to look stupid.....
Good point well made. (assuming you mean I look stupid on the PW50, if you are saying generally I look stupid, then that's harsh)

No, just on the 50.
Anyone 5'11 and 16 stone is never going to look convincing on a PW50. I've been there....
I hope you've apologised o your boy for the shame and embarrassment you caused him...

Luckily my brother has just moved to a place with a great undulating 5acre field!!!
We are both into greenlaning and enduro riding, My son who is 6 wants a bike desperately , I have looked at stomp bikes but have never seen one being ridden or anyone who has had one! Anyone on here with a similar pit bike or can recommend anything?
Sorry to spoil the party.

Please don't get an off road bike.

Our village had suffered the noise from these for some time, until recently, when we wrote a polite and courteous letter to the relevant party outlining the noise nuisance and general disturbance caused by these vehicles.

Thankfully the din has ceased apart from a short 'Revving session' prior to them competing, away from the area.

They are LOUD. Five acres is insufficient to be any kind of noise barrier. We could hear the bikes clearly when walking dogs or dropping the kids at school. (Two miles away.)

So please think very carefully before inflicting these machines on the local populace.

How about if he is on his own land with a legally purchased bike conforming to the requirements he does exactly as he chooses?
With the exception of regular organised events comprising many many bikes and without proper permission, how about you let people live their lives and not expect everyone to conform to YOUR wishes?
After all, you don't mind imposing your kids noise, your dogs st or piss on them, so why would you stick your nose into their business?
Maybe learn a little give and take....

The nearest neighbour is over 1.5miles away, so no problem with upsetting anyone!
That neighbour does MX as well, we've laid out a proper little enduro course, and I've got my son a xr70 and he's getting on well, as for the big kids, we love it, was there last night until 9.30

had a chat last night and he says he would love a bike...

We don't have neighbours as such, we live in the country. I doubt the noise would be an issue over the Harvester and Tractor of the field 'next door' and if we were on the airfield that's a HUGE site

I anticipated the insults, so will ignore them.

But before I leave for pastures new, so to speak, one further point:

Neighbour noise is the number one complaint to local authorities throughout the land and no, you cannot do anything, just because it is your house, land etc.

There a national and local laws which prevent neighbours being over intrusive to those around them.

Fortunately our village was able to sort the problem out on an amicable basis.

Another reason to go OSET initially. They don't make any noise and come in several sizes to suit the rider. Because of that most people tend to think of them as toys and they are tolerated where a Petrol bike wouldn't. Not a factor here but useful if you are "urban".

WD I've already said that we would predominantly use the airfield. Fighter jets are MUCH noisier than a quad or a bike.
I get your point. We are not inconsiderate of residents. We are not that type of person and we don't intend to cause a noise nuisance. Well aware of bye-laws etc & glad you managed to sort your issue :-)

I agree with Telecat here, both of us compete in trials & can see how things are growing on the Oset side and developing some good young riders. The silent use is a bonus too.

Despite being suggested in the first reply this option has not been considered?

And they seem to hold their value well too come re-sale time.

Do love osset bikes, think they are brilliant, and will probably go that way if and when my son wants to do trials, I did and a osset is far better than my old frantic I used to compete on, it was out of my price range for a beginner bike, next bike will be better if he continues to enjoy it

It's piss taking, if you think that's an insult then you may need to man up a bit.
