Assuming you were trolling to a certain extent but lot's of people do think that way.I have a Triumph Thruxton and a beard but I'm def. not a hipster, I had my beard when they were still just for weirdos (ah, those were the days).
I'm very seriously considering trading for the new Thruxton R too, as it looks like a million times more capable bike than the old one.

Cafe racers are hipster rubbish.
Apart from the bikes being 'bitsa', hipsters having stupid beards, an unnecessary use of manbags and the wearing of ball-squeezingly tight upturned jeans, can you quantify your statement? So, Fleegle...

I'll admit to owning a Fred Perry and Farah's, but no fecking way did I have a scooter
I haven't read the whole thread yet, not enough time at the moment but I'll chuck in my 2p-worth.
A few months back I posted something about the Zen-like state needed, which lots of you replied to. I think I do get at least annoyed, sometimes angry, more times than is good for me. The other week when that bint made 2 lanes out of one with me as the Armco/Peugeot 206 sandwich, I actually surprised myself with the rant I delivered to her. If I could have posted the transcript here, I'd have been well in with a chance of best rant ever.
Anyway. Something else which has happened a few (too many) times recently is the encountering of complete Canutes on bikes. You'll have seen them; the ones who believe that shaving 0.001s off their commute time is worth taking that gap that doesn't actually exist, but of COURSE the car/van/truck will brake to avoid clobbering me, won't they? Except recently, that has extended to other bikes. The view seems to be, if my front wheel will fit in the gap between those two other bikes, the other bikers will react swiftly enough to open up the gap so I can force my way through. I had one yesterday, on the way into the Blackwall tunnel, me and another bike next to each other when Rabid Ronaldo came through the pair of us with a speed delta of about 40mph. One day, however, it'll end up with all three of us smeared over the road. I'm not in any way nervous of filtering, I've been doing it on & off for over 20 years, currently daily, but I don't take fkn stupid chances, and I don't want to be collateral damage for those who do.
On a separate (opposing!) note, what the actual fk is this with the new trend for commuting on your bike but NOT filtering - not even getting in the way, just sitting in the queue? I see a growing number of bikes on stretches where EVERYONE filters, who just sit in the traffic with the cars. I really don't get that, not at all; if you're not going to filter you really may as well take the car and listen to Evans or something?
