Absolutely - they were probably starting promising rap careers, loveable rogues and had trials at Tottenham Hotspur...

It's sad only for:

a) the person who had their scooter stolen.
b) the policemen and NHS staff who had to deal with the reality of a dead kid.
c) the taxpayer who will invariably now pick up the big bill from the inquest, police inquiry and inevitable legal aid funded law suits against the police.
d) the victim of the smash and grab robbery.

Once you have been the victim of violent crime and theft a few times, you tend to lose a bit of empathy for the back story and families of these scrotes. The truth of it is, they did it to themselves, have no-one else to blame and the world is a better place as a result.

Of course, I will unreservedly apologise if this turns out to be a massive mis-reporting of the facts by the paper, but assuming the story is factually in the ball park:

Just looked at that picture and it looks to be a vespa gts which is quite quick scooter and smallest engined ones are 125 going up to 300cc.
