Would that engine fit in an Elise?

Just saying.

Bike looks like a pretty thorough piece of engineering though.
Synergy Power in NZ offer a 2.4L V8 that makes 350hp at 10,300rpm as a bolt-in kit for the GT86. Unsure if anyone's put it into an Elise yet.

eh? bikes were doing well over a 100mph before they started putting screens on them smile

On a calm day, 160mph without a screen is quite ok... The speed record without a fairing is over 200mph

You just need neck muscles smile

I think the 3.0l flat plane V8 making 500bhp in the Ariel Atom might be more explosive still..

Yep, its one of his. Uses the Radical Hayabusa based V8, think he has hit 207mph on this one.

The 225 was on his street fighter turbine bike!

I work for a motorcycle insurer so we love this sort of thing. However I prefer 4 wheels to 2.
So my first reaction is to think about putting that motor in a Radical or Seven.

Saw this at Henstridge Bikers Blast last May. V10 engined bike using a Viper engine!
Saw it on a stand at the NEC Bike Show in Dec too, unless there's more than one...

That's Allen Millyard. He's made some amazing specials, including a v-twin C90!

Moto Guzzi made an across the frame 500cc V8 in the fifties to race in GPs. It competed at the IoM TT but fuel economy was its big issue.

Sammy Miller has one that he uses with his usual enthusiasm on track parades. It's a work of art and worth a trip to his museum just to see it smile

Sorry but that much power is OK on the drag strip and is wasted on the road.

My bike as 192bhp and that is more than enough.

Excess power is a "waste" as soon as you need electronics to reign it in all the time so you could say the same about most modern superbikes....

but bigger numbers sell especially if its got a 250mph speedo wink

That bike is very impressive. Expensive, but elegantly beautiful.
Reminds me of the wonderful New Zealand 1998 Britten V1000, although that was a 999cc V twin. Engineers in the southern hemisphers are very resourceful, aren't they?
Any chance they could persuade Casey Stoner to buy at least one?
