Dry roads make so much of a difference, shame I had 2 tts pull out on me on roundabouts this evening, one a double decker bus... Ok mate, you're bigger than me, fair enough rolleyes the other some dozy twunt in a megane scenic with the plastic crap all over it (rx4?), gave him the 14krpm rev limiter AND the horn, my skills are obviously getting better as normally it's one or the other laugh

Dry roads for first time in ages. Managed to actually get a lean going around a few corners!
This, just had loads of fun on my ride in for the first time in ages, a guy on scooter was doing really well at keeping up with me, we split at a roundabout near my work. We nodded at each other. Probably both grinning like idiots

If youre on here, youll know who you are, good riding ! now get yourself a manual 125 and have some real fun smile

Pleasant ride home yesterday and in again this morning. First time in ages that I've been able to leave my visor down for the entire journey.

You're either a week early, or on another planet. Winter solstice is December 21st. teacher

He's not wrong, sunrise continues to get later but the evenings do start getting lighter a tiny bit earlier. So evenings get lighter but days do not get longer.

OK, you're absolutely correct, sunset is 1 minute later. I stand corrected.

However, in the spirit of Christmas pedantry, you really meant to say that evenings get darker a little bit later. You can't get lighter earlier when it is, in fact, starting to turn dark. The mornings will get lighter earlier after the 21st.
I accept though that that is what you meant to say.

Rode in on reasonably dry roads - first time in a couple of weeks that there's been no salt!!!!! Will go for the scenic route on way home, although darkness means it will not actually be that scenic....

You are 100% correct and I shall eat a mince pie or 10 in penance.

Extra 2 mins of daylight per day from next week. Don't knock it - that's an hour a month!

Here in Manchester (according to the BBC website weather page) sunset is stubbornly set at 15:50 for the next few days, and sunrise continues to get later, meaning we will still endure shorter days for a while - it's not until Monday 19th that we get turn the corner and get an extra minute of light.

Always feels like tthe days shorten a lot more swiftly than they lengthen.

Anyway, had a fun ride home. 12.5 hr days have their advantages!

I had to leave my office early 4pm yesterday to take late calls to my US colleagues into the evening at home.. wow just an hour earlier makes all the difference in a better/easier/smoother commute home (single narrow lane lower thames street up to tower hill east being the sh*te part everyday since the poxy cycle superhighway was opened).

I think people are starting Christmas breaks already the traffic was marginally lighter this morning expect it to get better again into next week too. After that I'll have two weeks off work and the bike - since I'll be in London this year I could actually ride the bike Christmas morning if the weather is ok LOL

Dont know what it is about Fridays but there's never any traffic in the mornings at least. Monday - Thursday - filtering all the way from Letchworth to Stevenage South on the A1 and the traffics pretty much stationary but every Friday, straight through - no filtering.

Friday evening tends to be terrible irrespective of what the morning is like

Totally agree, and today is supposed to be worse than ever due to holiday traffic
