Nothing to complain about if a little chilly, had a nice 15 mile round trip on the cbr this morning.
Anyone else riding all year on the same bike?
I do, on my good ole trusted 2002 CBR600F with 66000km on the clock. It's seen everything, including snow and road salt. It has big scratches everywhere, lower fairing melted a bit from the cat (I had the suspension changed to RaceTech and Wilbers and lifted the bike 20mm front and rear, so cat was almost touching the plastic). Had the gearing changed to 15-46. It's a really comfortable bike to ride in any occasion, including filtering through crawling traffic.Anyone else riding all year on the same bike?
Unfortunately, it has been -5 to -10C for the last three weeks and I do not have good winter gloves, so I do no ride. But I finally ordered Oxford heated grips.

Yes always have always do, now into year round commuting year number 18.Anyone else riding all year on the same bike?
I like your commitment, considering you just got your license and a proper size bike when i first got my license and bike i was the same but then i only rode for fun back then 20 years ago.
I tend to save my fun riding for warmer non work days now, I'm in no hurry to ride on weekends esp as its winter. The bike usually gets cleaned at the weekends but not when the temp doesn't top 5deg

I did the same thing last week, after suffering cold hands since late last year. Best thing I ever did theyre so good ! Unfortunately, it has been -5 to -10C for the last three weeks and I do not have good winter gloves, so I do no ride. But I finally ordered Oxford heated grips.
Main roads were slimy salt encrusted st; visibility down to 100m with freezing fog on visor. Fog had frozen onto brake discs over night, so getting out of driveway was interesting Office car park looked dry, but had a thin layer of frozen fog on it. how I managed to stay upright & put the bike on its stand, I'll never know.....
Funny you mentioned that, i had the same happen to me a couple of weeks ago....i just took the bike around the village to test the bike as i had fitted a new QS gear linkage and nearly ended up on my arse.
I only took the bike out last week as i went home at lunchtime and it was dry so rode the bike back to work. Come home time the roads were greasy, salty and lethal. So 'Rain mode' and creep home. Bike back under blanket in garage!

This morning I asked the nice lady on the Kawasaki with the red pony tail what she was listening to, as I could see her bobbing her head and generally rocking it through the traffic. It should have been obvious that because she was listening to something, she was even less likely to hear me shouting at her through two neck warmers and a full face lid. Made worse by the fact my poorly thought out approach had triggered my voice control and de-tuned my radio to a frequency not tuned in. So through a load of static and robotic voices in my helmet, I was just able to make out her response of "I'm sorry I cant hear you." I thought it might help to try to explain I was also listening to music, by pointing to my Cardo SHO1. Strangely, she didn't seem that keen to engage with the incomprehensible buffoon on the grandpa bike, adorned in a Hein Gericke duvet and comedic winter gloves, peering out at her through a pulled up neck warmer like some sort of terrorist and gesturing at his helmet whilst gyrating something under 6" of goretex and nylon..
Smooth.
Brilliant.Smooth.
Frozen bike cover, partially frozen D lock but padlock ok this morning despite being -2 at 8am.
Heated gloves on, but visor up riding pretty much all the way.. the outside just smeared with the fog/dirt/salt combo. Just a few other bikes this morning but the usual queue jockey behaviour of the 4 wheeled drivers in the Limehouse link today.. when large artic trucks are lane changing for what appears to be limited/no benefit you know its got bad.
Random minicab lane changing behaviour however trying to move into the left lane I'm occupying - he stopped then carried on then stopped again as I was trying to work round his incompetence/lack of observation, basically completely impossible to predict the behaviour of the london minicab driver at times other than its going to be random. Ended up letting him cut me up and moving round him to his right as he'd basically left me no options.

My commute was a bit disastrous this morning I left home at 02:45 usual Monday morning time but pulled by the coppers at 03:00 no problems there it's my car ETC.
160 miles covered before seeing minus temperatures at the M25 I'm spraying the windows and it's freezing on the screen I carry on to the digs and see -6.5c on the dash think fk it's too cold to go to work.
08:00 I decide to go in walk past the car which is now frozen solid and get the bike out the garage to be honest wasn't too bad I expected much worse.

Not quite so cold this morning & no fog, thank fk. However, Gary Gritter laid down yet another layer of totally unnecessary salt. This has now turned into an evil salty soup which sprays everywhere, & cuts visor visibility to zero when the sun's out, & poor Kylie is corroding in front of my eyes!
