On the contrary-my iPhone app reckons constant rain from this Friday through to next Thursday!

Hmmm.... My Android app says a bit of drizzle on Friday! Maybe I'm further south than you....

Bike wouldnt start yesterday. Thought I'd try to bump it but bumping a 1200 twin on icy roads is exactly as hard as it sounds. Sadly, once at the bottom of the hill, it was too icy to try and push it back up. RAC were called and got it started, its now at the dealer getting a new battery, which was on its way out anyway. 160 quid, ta.

Anywhere in the vicinity of Battersea power station is CRAZY slippery at the moment by the way. Took me three applications of the throttle just to get off the lights from there yesterday.

Needs a bit of moisture to avoid a smeary mess though. It's akin to car wipers but without the washer jets and can be a bit of a gamble in these conditions.

Nice ride in this morning, only to have to ride back 2 hours later when my colleagues had had enough of me spluttering at my desk. Thought i'd shaken the man-flu and although I feel 90% better I got sent home (again) though fear of infecting others.

Now WFH....not all bad i guess

Jeans, leather jacket and short boots today...probably regret it going home at 2300 but it just felt too nice for full winter textiles. M/cycle rack full of all sorts of gash as well so a few others have decided to risk the sunny window in the weather. Just hoping my colleague passed his test this morning so I can scope out the XSR900 he's bought later!

That's a long way north from here hehe
Anyway, Android app is now suggesting a return of the fking freezing fog tonight/tomorrow morning, drizzle all Friday afternoon & a shower on Saturday. I wish there was better predictability, but I guess UK weather is just too fickle....

Yeah, that moment when you think your visor is wet enough to wipe, yet you end up with crap smeared all over it and nothing to wash it off with.

I occasionally think of asking a car I've filtered past to give me a blast of their washer jets... laughidea

I used to hate commuting by bike this time of year. The filth from the evil road salt was just horrendous.

The salt and the ice it has melted has been building up for the past few days into this minging mess that doesn't dry out. Horrible to ride on, which is why I've now got a winter shed to handle commuting duties.

Hopefully this weekend's rain (although that's been debated laugh) will wash everything off and leave us some sunshine and dry roads to ride!

About 75m visibility this morning, no ice just a damp road, no grip issues at all. Heated grips as ever causing me to make involuntary ooohs and aaahs, why I didn't get them sooner i'll never know.

Parked up at the station today and as I packed the helmet away I saw what I thought was oil dripping from the chain/rear of the bike.
Not oil as it turns out just road grime.

Anyone stuck behind that clown with a Polite vest on driving one of those stupid 3 wheel scooters over Hammersmith flyover this morning about 8:10? queue of about 15 bikes as he sat stationary in traffic blocking the filtering route? I was near the back and there were some people getting very annoyed, as it comes into 3 lanes a scooter tried shooting between lane 1 and 2 and was within inches of getting wiped out by a van moving over for said 3 wheel clown who wouldn't pass.

Have seen him before. Can confirm he is an idiot.

VERY slippy this morning. Almost lost it twice when i found some ice. freezing fog the whole way, still hanging around now in Oxford.

I washed the bike yesterday, this is the result of a one way commute.

That pretty much sums up the last few weeks frown

Tonight's commute home was horrible - I'd taken off the muffs as it wasn't that cold this morning... freezing fog as I left work, which turned to freezing rain. Fingers were in pain when i got home, my heated grips were fighting a losing battle and couldn't really do a lot. On top of that the fog and rain meant I couldn't see a thing a lot of the time...

I actually thought how much nicer it would be if I was in a car. boxedingrumpy

Huge ass screen and heated gloves next winter. Think I've said that a few times laugh but this winter has been fking horrible, last winter wasn't anywhere near as bad as this.
