And today's commuting highlight is...

Yesterdays highlight was having to wait at a green light to allow about 60 or so chav scum st heads run red lights on their stolen wkmobiles. It's a poor state of affairs that these pondlife are allowed to run riot without any fear. There was a distinct lack of number plates, carving up other road users, I saw 3 without helmets, one of which was on a motox bike with no lights/plates and knobblies, and of course the obligatory wheelies.
I understand that the police stood back so as not to light the touchpaper, but I hope each and everyone of these rodents gets a 4am visit by the task force and receives a very special kicking
Where was this as they were pissing about at Wandsworth bridge around lunch time arguing with three coppers and a traffic warden.I understand that the police stood back so as not to light the touchpaper, but I hope each and everyone of these rodents gets a 4am visit by the task force and receives a very special kicking
They reappeared later and seemed to be chasing a bloke on a Triumph he appeared to give them the slip by diving down Townmead road and off up a side street.
Dirty chav bds.

They had been to some other chavc unts funeral
My commuting highlight was actually commuting on the bike!!! It finally passed its MOT today so I rode it in this afternoon to celebrate!
I hadn't realised how much of a nervous rider I would be after 5 years off bikes. Was already getting back into it by the time I got into work but the first few roundabouts seemed to be made entirely of 50p's

Not a commute as such (although I did that today like every other day) but... rode to the gym tonight and it's warm enough for kevlar jeans, even at 9pm
You wait, it'll snow again in a few weeks now
Some of us are in them all year round as my textiles seem to have shrunk gradually over time, now rather tight around the waist and crotch so a little tight to throw a leg over the bikeYou wait, it'll snow again in a few weeks now
Another good commute for me this morning, barring a Pug 206 that seemed to try and change lanes into my left leg when it got stuck behind a bus...luckily I was half expecting it so had already checked there was a small gap on my right to move over into.

The same thing seems to have happened to my leathers last worn in 2002.
Some guy in an A7 agressively beeped at me then proceeded to drive right up my backside. When qestioned, he said I need to learn how to ride and pass my test as I shouldn't be filtering. Obviously that justifies him nearly knocking me off my bike at 45mph. At the next set of lights he certainly wasn't man enough to get out of his car to settle it like the man he's pretending to be behind a window. Truley unbelievable, I just don't understand these thinking of people like this.
left home as the reserve tank kicked in....all good until the Old Kent road when it starts running rather rough and eventually conks out, manage to get it re-started whilst still rolling and make the 0.2 miles to the Tesco to fill up, can only assume the fuel filter needs to be changed...and a rear indicator has fallen off :/
The list to make the bike decent/non-antisocial/dependable keeps growing, seems like the previous owner (a mate of mine, barring 9 months and 300 miles with somebody else in the interim) has bodged a few things/its getting some all weather use (was a garage queen before):
Headlight adjustment screw to be re-located in the adjuster (currently illuminating rear view mirrors and tree canopies)
Cam Chain tensioner (have the parts, not the time)
Oil and filter (same)
Front indicator (lens fallen off, have the replacement)
Rear indicator (now fallen off, need to buy another/fix)
Exhaust blowing and end can fallen off (poss need to weld & put the now dented end can back on)
Brake pads starting to wear low but still fine
Fuel filter

Is yours silver (and red?) - I sat beside one at the lights just past New Cross where you split right onto the OKR this morning. I did think the bike seemed to be hiding in the gutter in a rather subdued fashion! Me on an R1200RT and I think there was a ZX10 alongside me?

Typically leave Beckenham at about 06:15, come via Catford/Lewisham and get to Moorgate for ~06:50

No mine is black with some fetching Orange rim tape (something else which should really get some of my attention), although the exhaust is still attached here....

Ah right, def not you - besides, I'm still in bed at 0615! I'm in Moorgate today, usually at Tower Bridge.Typically leave Beckenham at about 06:15, come via Catford/Lewisham and get to Moorgate for ~06:50
Apart from adding to what I'm now calling ironically a triple layer of crap to my already doubly dirty Speed Triple last night I had the pleasure of being pulled out on near home in East London by an E60 5Series wannabe M5 i.e. pimped with tints too. Clearly should be able to see me but waited to turn right at an empty junction across me until I was virtually on him before pulling out lazily slow and then couldn't even be bothered to fully cross the white line to his side of the road. Maximum possible impact to me on the main road with right of way. Was a complete fits the profile car/look/moment - so I totally expected this to happen and had slowed accordingly but didn't stop me being p*ssed off with the idiot for basically forcing me slow down to avoid hitting him pulling out on me. Those in London that ride will be fully aware of the 'waiting for other traffic to appear first before doing anything' levels of driving incompetence in certain parts - without wishing to appear rude it would appear to be a cultural thing in certain communities to drive in this manor.
Before anyone asks I did clean my headlights the other morning too.

Unfortunately I think you might be able to extend that to the South East of the country at the very least.....Gassing Station | Biker Banter | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
