This thread is a great example of the bizarre two-way snobbery between HD aficionados and "others".

I ride my Street Glide from the North of England to Italy regularly, and I can't think of anything else I'd rather do that journey with.

I blast around the desert on the KTM and the same logic applies.

Now I don't slide my knees on a track but you get my point.

Ride safe

One of my biggest problems with HD is the fact they appear to name all of their models after dildos.

Well this is more conversation than I expected when I asked the question.

A lot of different views and points across.

You tried to understand the real model numbers ? they have to give them easy to remember names for their buyers to understand ...some are embarrassing wink

How about a "FLTCU Rubber Mount Dresser Classic Ultra" ?

at least Harley havnt gone all politically correct with their marketing....yet ....

Ooh ooh ooh, a thread in BB where we can say nasty things about Harleys

Mines terrible.

I die on every corner, get overtaken by every mobility scooter and get bummed by the Village People when I fail to filter at the lights.

Girls never want to ride on the back. They hate it.

Am I doing it right?

One of mine handles like a dream, the brakes are good enough to do stoppies, it never fails to make me smile, it's loud but not obnoxious, oh yeah I own a Buell! The other one isn't that fast, doesn't handle as well, does stop well with the addition of some Brembo's but is great for a ride out on a sunny day.

All bikes are different. Thats why there are multiple styles and vendors. Ride what makes you happy. If you can afford it, have multiple bikes to get maximum smiles on the most days. No one bike is best at everything, despite whatever the GS riders might claim :-)

Phew; it does go round corners, will cruise in perfect calm at well in excess of the injudicious limits, returns 50+ mpg, is very comfortable, will progress in heavy traffic with aplomb – oh and looks a million dollars.
How do you see over the top of cars in traffic when your head's probably lower down than the driver in an average car? I just don't see how they can be a good solution for traffic, a bit like those suicidal wierdos that like to use recumbent bikes/trikes in traffic.

I have a sudden and overwhelming desire to buy a Softail Slim with straight bars.

The CBR 1100XX is great but sometimes I just want to bimble around. Loudly.

The same way most people do , the seat height is little different to a moped or scooter , what a moronic question .

Almost as moronic as calling someone a moron without checking your facts rofl I suppose I can't expect anything better from an HD rider though wink

Those common scooters are a good 3 inches taller on average, and if you look at the distribution most HDs are quite a bit lower than the average scooter. As I say, hardly the ideal tool for getting through traffic.

Sjwb owns the same model harley as i do , it has a seat height of 27.5 inches that puts it as i said little different to most scooters .

It's not the size, it's what you do with it (said no woman, anywhere).
