The bike is stunning.

I went to Jerez last weekend where they were running a yamaha day. Was a normal track day but one of the groups was people getting turns on a load of R6's and R1's. One of the bikes there (but not included in the riding) was an R1M with that same paint scheme (or very similar)... and it's breathtaking in person.

I don't think pics do it justice, and it looks great in pics so... biggrin
I've seen that picture on Alex James website, the colours are slightly different as we asked too change the colours around a bit.

One question, do the speed blocks line up in real life/ is it just the camera that makes them look a bit, wonky?

Still like it, a lot.
Just the camera angle I think.

Dream bike for a lot of people there bn. Enjoy, its a lovely looking thing. Any plans on a change of wheel colour or leaving them blue?
Cheers Tim, I'm leaving the wheel colour the same, I'll probably buy a set of Dymags in the near future. (in Black)

That pipe looks loud
it is loud, its also Akys bike, He also has a Pipe Werx but has fitted the small Scropion can off his ZX10.

It'll not pass a noise test in hell the noise it makes.

I'm gonna nick it next time I have mine out on the road.

You used it on the road much BN? I'm considering chopping my '09 RSV4 Factory in for a standard '15 R1 but not convinced the R1 is as good a road bike. Your M looks gorgeous btw, I'll bet its a proper weapon on track!

Hello Dave

I've done 580 miles on it so far (just had its first service 600 mile)

I had fault codes on mine while I was running it so that meant the electronic suspension and power modes plus all the other stuff was stuck in a default mode which made the suspension rock hard, hard enough for me to bite my tongue hitting an unseen bump. I have ridden a 15 R1 without all the ste on it and it was a lot better on the road.

Comfort wise I thought my old 04 R1 was comfortable but swapping between the 2 the newer one is a lot better.

Oh, it goes like fkin stink too.

Thanks for the reply BN. I did take it for a brief test ride and agree, goes like a stabbed rat! I do wonder if it's too top endy for the road but might well take the plunge and hope for the best! The build quality is certainly better than the Aprilia IMHO.

Yeah it did look a bit different to your pics. It's epic on the track fairings though.

Time to bring this thread to a conclusion

Just fitted new Rethal sprockets and some of my old Moto 2 slicks. All being well I should have completed my first day on track with this bike by the end of the week at Croft

Be interested to hear what you think of the suspension over all the bumps at Croft.

Yep, I'll have to remember to take my teeth out or I'll end up swallowing them.

I'm gonna have a st time, none of the lads are going to show any mercy. If I don't get on with this then its time to hang my track boots up.

I'll give you £67.32 and a KitKat wrapper for it, when your toys leave the pram tongue out

Are you doing Croft on Friday? I might see you there if so (I'm not riding though).
