Another vote for bendix here - MF on the road. Excellent bite and stopping power from cold.

EBC HH need to be hot to work and are made of cheese. Their organic ones have great longevity, average bite/feel/power. My 2c.

Anybody know if the Sainsburys 2for1 offer is still on for toilet paper , I seem to have a bit of a stomach bug , that or the curry I had last night and maybe one of the several pints of Warsteiner I was forced to drink may have been dodgy ...?
Thanks in advance.

What's up? Have I upset you. My statements stand. I use OE on the road,a s there's no need for anything else. However, I will defend EBC on track as the GPFAX pad is superb and beats anything else I've ever used in terms of feel amd stopping power. Admittedly, I haven't used z04s, but I'm not convinced that £550 for a set of pads is money best spent at my level.

WhenGPFAXs are on such a great deal and come with huge recommendations from people who are quicker than me then I'm happy with them. If you think that being on a 2 for 1 is a bad deal, or shows them up as st then what do you do when Brembos are on sale?
Sorry chap, I forgot about this. I did look for 2for1 offers on cheese but none available unfortunately wink

Seriously, if you find EBC good then great, you go for it. There are a huge number of people who wouldn't put EBC on their wheelie bins let alone their bike, but don't listen to me, you carry on paying more for EBC than Brembo. I mean, what do Brembo know ? Brembo - mere newcomers and probably need putting in their place and I'd bet EBC are just the chaps to do it wink

According to EBC they do need to be warmed up:

First stop 0.25 Mu then increases as further stops put more heat into them. Most if not all track pads are the same though, this is not unique to EBC. It's why these pads are not recommended for road use as they do not have as much friction when cold as when hot so can take a novice by surprise.

You're not quite getting this are you? You just be quite some rider, but then you refer to basic Brembos, rather than Brembo pads that are definitely better than these, which are Z04s. I can't justify £550 for a set though.

I use pads that work for me on track, they seem to do OK. I'm sure you're going to tell me that you're a top level racer, but if so, why aren't you using Z04s?

That's for GPFAX not HH but don't let that get in the way of your argument.

Tom - absolutely , but you know sometimes it just doesn't seem worth the effort to even respond when you can't really be certain the guy with all the opinions and facts ( OK , not really , when wholly inaccurate ) and figures , actually has a bike and / or can ride , which , in this case , seems questionable .
They do , however have a good handle on the current grocery market , which could indeed be useful ....

I've got them fitted to my 04 R1 and wouldn't use them if they were crap, ues I've used other pads and they too were OK, TBO, I don't think of any of the pads I have used in 35 years of riding have been crap.

People can stick all the graphs up they want but I know from personal experience if something I have used has a particular quirk.

Its impossible to change peoples view on the internet so I don't bother.

I'm going to jump on the ebc are crap bandwagon too. I haven't ever used them on bikes, but a set on a lotus Elise almost a decade ago have scarred me for life.

Brembo Z04 FTW biggrin

How badly did you crash that one , Neil ?
frown
But seriously , I understand , and your use is a bit different to that of the road / HH discussion going on within this thread and causing the confusion / misunderstanding of many ...
You should and are welcome to try them ( the gpfax )on my bike on track when we next meet - you could just be surprised , and yes, I have used both ...
Reminds me , still got a load of 1/2 life ZO4s somewhere in garage , wrong shape for my current calipers ....

My Focus RS came with EBC Red stuff pads fitted, the disc's were badly scored so I bought new disc's and Bendix pads, those disc's ended up warping so I fitted new Disc's (Ford) and Brembo pads, all seems well so far.
