I've used EBC HH's on the road and track for donkey's years . What I like about them is that they work very well in all conditions, don't cover your wheels in brake dust, don't seem to wear the discs out and are reasonably priced.

Last year I ran Brembo and SBS pads in Brembo callipers, the only difference I could feel was the initial bite of the Brembo pads.

^^^ This all day long - Every bike I've put EBC HH into has been an improvement on road and track. The only downside is the slight zizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz noise when you brake.

Mumbo jumbo ? Yeah . . . well, if you bothered to read things like this you'd understand more about how to get the most from the bike.

But at last we get to the point of why you use EBC - they're cheap, 2 for 1 - never seen a great product offered 2 for 1, only toilet paper, cheese and EBC brake pads and guess what they all have in common ? ! laugh
2 for 1 is often an approach taken to get I to a market. It's also only available via one retailer who are trying to become exclusive distributors for the product. Of course you'll understand how markets work as well because you're so amazing.

I actually don't care what you think or have read, I know what works for me and a few others on here. They work well enough in the group I run in on trackdays.

As do I , work well for me ...and a few of the actual proper fast lads ,at a similar pace to our very own Mr McKean, his pal Mick Alderson (1.43.00s Oulton Park ,1.50 Jerez ....) doesn't use anything other than these now.

Another point of reference known to many and respected as being able to handle a bike in most company -longterm FE Senior Instructor and guide to the many on particularly Euro trackdays, "Harry Monk" - Gene Adams, doesn't use anything else nowadays either....

Things change out there you know folks...don't be guilty of being blind, deaf and thus ignorant forever and /or do not pass judgement on stuff you have not tested personally - i choose not to recommend anything to anyone anymore due to the above.

So why do Sainsbury's offer 2 for 1 on toilet paper ? Not new to market and not looking for exclusive contract.

If you're happy with EBC then bully for you but a lot of other people won't touch them based on their own previous experience of them and my point, as above, was that they're still up to their tricks stating something that's not accurate in their marketing material. If they want to sell budget pads and just come out and say that then at least they're being honest but to try to claim they are the equal of others like Brembo is just laughable.

Where did I say they were the equal of brembos? Thing is I don't think in good enough to really get the best out of the Z04s. Still you're probably right rolleyes

No one said you did.

EBC's own marketing material on the other hand.

And many amongst those who have actually used both firsthand agree with it ....
-better , no.
- comparable and remarkably good value for money , most certainly .

For a Daytona 675 . . . http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorcycle/brake-pad...

Brembo: £28 road or £36 race
EBC: £20 road or £42 race or £48 for the GPFAX race pads (this pad mentioned above in EBC marketing)

All sintered pads. Alternatively the Bendix pads are cheaper than all the race pads above at £20 road and £23 race. Armstrong also available in HH sintered pad at £14.

You can pretty much add a zero to the prices above for Z04s...

I took the Z04's out the ZX10 to try the EBC GPFAX about 6 or 7 trackdays ago. Not only have they stayed in, I have bought another 2 full sets

Can't you're arguing about which is 'better'. You realise it's not really something that has an answer? They are different; it's a preference, not an absolute.

I know, the Brembo Z04s are rather pricey indeed but as has been mentioned above, I doubt most people here, myself included, have come close to the limits of existing track pads, unless being a monkey and abusing them.

I apologise, I knew you'd not be happy when I posted that but I did try very hard, I really did, to find you a 2for1 deal on anything, but I am going to Tesco's tomorrow for something so I can see if they have cheddar on offer again if you like ? Or do you like something a bit softer, a Roule perhaps ? wink

Seriously, what have Demon Tweeks got wrong then ? Are they not comparable ? I chose a Trumpet 675 as that's what Alex has and he asked the question.

What's up? Have I upset you. My statements stand. I use OE on the road,a s there's no need for anything else. However, I will defend EBC on track as the GPFAX pad is superb and beats anything else I've ever used in terms of feel amd stopping power. Admittedly, I haven't used z04s, but I'm not convinced that £550 for a set of pads is money best spent at my level.

WhenGPFAXs are on such a great deal and come with huge recommendations from people who are quicker than me then I'm happy with them. If you think that being on a 2 for 1 is a bad deal, or shows them up as st then what do you do when Brembos are on sale?
