i have it on VERY good authority JL is a complete weapons grde bell end in real life.
A guy I know works for Alpinestars and deals with the MotoGP guys leathers.
his comments, and I do paraphase here...

Dani Pedrosa... One of the nicest gus you could meet. Polite, helpful and charming.
Marc Marquez.... Was an absolute blast, really fun outgoing guy but become a bit more reserved and introverted since the "incident"
Jorge Lorenzo. Cock. utter Bell. Always blaming anything and everything. grumpy sour puss of the 1st order.
Casey Stoner.. Nice guy. introverted and quiet. But really nice one on one

so there we have it. JL is a cock. My mate at A* says so and you can't beat that..... It's science
I've read the same comments before about those guys.

Damn science, I was going to counter with Schumacher and Senna being cocks as far as everyone knew whilst they were racing. Turned out they were actually top people, just very, very focused on winning championships.

I don't give a flying fudge about the personalities anyway. It's not that long ago that everyone hated Stoner and loved Marquez. Amazing how things change once Rossi puts on his tinfoil hat.

I am split 50/50 between Marquez and Rossi, I have never been keen on Lorenzo or Stoner. At the end of the day I am pretty sure none of them will care a not a jot what I think. I wouldn't "boo" any of them or walk past them without being star struck.

My wee wee just gets boiled by the same old people having a go at Rossi, yep he's been a tit in the past but so what, a global superstar who is nearly 40 is still right up there fighting for championships and wins.

We are watching history being made by a superstar who is great for the sport I love and I assume others who are contributing to these threads.

Let's not make these theses like the football and F1 threads, I need to wind my neck in too.

Unfortunately John, It went football-style tribal when 'cult rossi' arrived. it got Lazio-esque extreme last year, and as long as he rides, if he carries on refusing to admit fault for last year it will only get worse.

His fans drove Stoner away from the sport, if we are not careful they might drive Lorenzo or marquez out too

(not saying either of the other riders couldnt have dealt with it differently, but rossi was the prime factor, he simply cracked)

Rossi clearly using his years of experience with set up and Michelin tyres to get a jump on the feisty young pups, and I'm sure he will use whatever means at his disposal to ensure we have a fantastic season to look forward to.

Bring on Le Mans and let battle commence. When the flag drops the B.S stops.smile

Just to add , I really don't understand where the annoyance of posters comes from as regards J.L. ..The only bhin and whining is coming from my fellow posters wink

A special mention from me goes out to Dani , Dovi , and Eugene , unbelievably gentlemanly in the face of adversity clap

They keep saying how great he is at riding around tyre issues. It appears he rides around square tyres by doing wheelies.

He has never admitted the real reasons. You're making things up somehow. Officially he said something like he was unhappy with some of the circus but primarily he had had enough of racing and wanted to be a dad.
And surely if he retired because of Rossi he would have done it at the height of the issues like 2008 or 2010 when Ducati treated him like st and not much later having finally retired in 2012 having won the WC in 2011.

Maybe we can just draw a line under last year already?!

Note they covered rossi's rear tyre staight away unlike lorenzo's.

Still this year isn't going to be about wins it's who's going to score points at all the races not win it or bin it.

Wtf happened to redding today?
Like every other MotoGP championship then.

when was the last time Rossi won a flag to flag? Maybe the early years at Yamaha?

I'll admit it was a boring race, but I was still pleased with the result. Haven't watched the post race interviews yet, but having read the comments on here I might have to.

Also they covered Lorenzo's tyres as soon as he came in. No idea what they did with Rossi rear tyre.

Why does MM have to ride round the slow down lap with a flag like he won the bloody race. This irritates me a bit.

Easy , because it takes control/attention from Rossi.

Rossi may have won but by taking his time coming in marquez is forcing rossi to wait to spray the champagne.

yes

This is the kind of stuff you'd expect from these guys. Including Rossi. Winning at any cost should be the name of the game. Also Lorenzo had a motive for what he said. He (as the current World Champion) is being "forced out" (this is how he will see it) of Yamaha by Rossi who signed on for 2 more years. This is him making sure that everyone knows that Yam cannot give preferential treatment to Rossi this year.

This is just making things up. My mate worked in the paddock until end of last season and worked with stoner, marquez and pedrosa in the last few seasons. He actually worked with stoner for three seasons and I met stoner through him. He tells me the reason stoner left was because racing bikes had become less fun. He got fed up of racing every lap to be scrutinised by milliseconds and had lost the fun of just riding bikes. He told my mate about two seasons before he was considering jacking it in. Stoner said he didn't want to lose the love for bikes totally and the only way to do that was to stop racing.

Stoner is actually a nice chap. We spent about 15 mins with him in one of the ohlins trucks at Mugello and he was asking about our up coming wedding (2009). He was asking us questions about our life and jobs and was down to earth. Suppose he was different in front of the cameras.

That was Lorenzo's secret special more powerful engine.

Or was it Rossi's secret special stickier Michelin's offering more rolling resistance?

YOU DECIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will just add - when bikes are sliding, we know where the advantage goes and it's not to Lorenzo's smooth and fast style. Biaggi was the same - a shame he left MotoGP just when 800s and electronics came it that would favour his 250 style.

Casey is a thoroughly nice chap.

The beginning of the end was the laguna incident and the abuse afterwards, including Mrs Stoner being spat at in the paddock at Donington by our glorious rossi lovers.

He hated the PR side of things, all he wanted to do was ride, simple.

Lincs Bloke you sound like Castrol Craig - Sadly it seems the new era of fans can be football like, but once Donnington had 5,000 fans at Moto GP/500 GP races so in theory you are going to attract some of these types now the sport is took to the masses.

That aside Rossi has more appeal to the masses, I dont know if anyone else noticed but he was handed a bottle during his post race interview and he stopped the interview to say "Thank You", then the tweet of Mc'Pint at the TT he sent out, as Matt oxley said you could imagine him at home eating pizza watching You Tube videos of the TT but at the end of the day everyone wants to see the racing and whilst Sundays race was slightly below average regards fairing bashing everyone was impressed that VR is still doing what he does.

Casey Stoner et al are all brillant, its a shame they didn't relax and worry less about what people thought and just enjoyed the luck and talent they had for doing something we'd all love to do - Nothing great is easy nor should it be. Does that effect how i feel about Lorenzo, Marquez etc, (not that they'd give a toss what I thought) no way i admire them.

Another comment i heard Chris Walker state was when he went to 500's in 2001, pretty much the whole paddock ignored him except Rossi, he made a point of chatting to him and having a drink with him, you could argue that he was never a threat to Rossi but then again nor was he to Checa, Biaggi etc.

Love the sport, leave the boo'ing to those who dont appreciate the sport.
