So Lorenzo just said he was riding at 80% throttle to stop it spinning up in a straight line. Then how in the blue hell did he finish 2nd doing that???

Rossi's advantage lap by lap didn't tend to be that big, but it was very consistent and as such gradually built up the gap. There's obviously been problems and the tyres clearly aren't perfect but they're all using them.. Marquez handled the interviews in the correct manner.

Exactly, the tyres are same for everyone, some just handled them better than others, or as is more likely, had a better race setup

As for JL in the post race interview - poor form.... I could have won, I had the pace, tyre was spinning, Michelin need to do something about it using today's data, blah blah blah.

A total chop and completely playing into the hands of the anti JL brigade. Great rider, nauseating person.

But to have his arse handed to him in his own back yard is one thing, but to come out with the infantile crap is embarrassing. Even Marc conceded he couldn't run th epace and that was that.
As said before, JL is superb when he can get to the front early and go. But it seems he couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag, which doesn't bode well for his time at Ducati...
It's not infantile crap though, is it? It's a reason. A reason given when asked, and you posted your comment way before he opened his mouth. I'm no fan of Lorenzo - far from it, in fact - but what you're doing is looking suspiciously like reflective hero syndrome. Your first response wasn't lauding Rossi, it was mocking Lorenzo. It's the mark of a tool.

Purely FYI.

I think Jorge's comments about he could have won easily were a bit dubious but I can see why he has to tell himself that. I'm sure these tyres will cost everyone some points (They've already cost Rossi with the flag to flag - I'd say his front end loss was all his own doing but you never know when there are tyre question marks).

It's inevitable that Yamaha will put even more focus and effort into Rossi now that Jorge is off. I really wasn't expecting him to be in the championship fight again after last year, but I can see Yamaha pushing him hard and treating Jorge very much like a number 2 rider, they'd be stupid not to and I'm sure Rossi has been feeling no2 treatment since he came back. I've no idea how much of the little bit of extra pace Jorge has looked to have most of the time is a result of that, but it was interesting that suddenly Rossi had that little advantage all weekend.

I don't particularly like Jorge, but fair play to him for taking the Ducati challenge. A bad weekend for them but they're going to be in the hunt on 75% of the tracks and if Jorge can contribute to the development then he could be in the title hunt. Have to feel very sorry for Dovi again.

Pleased for the old bloke whose age is approaching his bike number.

Been a long time Vale fan, his antics last year, hmmm, but now feel very good he finally got a pole ( what? no, surely 3rd row!) and a win.

Go on mate... stick it to em, light the Spaniards beards .... bowtie

I notice Eugene is shown as "Irish" on the MotoGp site and graphics etc, but isn't he from N Ireland, Ulster? Born and bred I thought the Lavertys were?

Rossi wins. Shoves it up the Spaniards in their own backyard.

Sorted. Well chuffed with that.

Not sure what feed you get but I posted after the words left his mouth, at the Parc ferme barrier interview.
Amazing how everyone else had the same tyres, the same issues yet everyone else just got on with it. For JL to state that the pace was slow and he could of won is idiotic and moot. He didn't. Wasn't even close. Do you really believe he saw off the rest of the field whilst only riding at 80% throttle and the rear spinning in 3rd/4th/5th & 6th whilst upright as he stated??
Fact is he got taken by the man he despises to his very core, as does Marc. yet marc semd to be able to display a modicum of maturity and take it as it was. For JL to come out with statements as he did shows the true character of the man.
As for mocking Lorenzo, his comments are worthy of mockery. Not the mark of a tool FYI, just someone who ses JL for what he really is.
maybe you're the tool for not understanding this.....?

Just watched it

MM told it how it was
Jorge - slow pace, what planet is he on, he needs to grow up again - if he wanted slow pace he should have come round with me in March
Rossi - Lovely to watch and deserved

How can you sit on a bike side saddle and ride it in a straight line with one hand
Magic to watch.

I don't think JL was far from the mark to be honest. Did anyone else see the groove in his rear tyre? He probably could have came across better than he did though.

It was what it was though, a boring race. Great see Sam win! Cracking ride from Eugene too!
