Driveway recommendations in Hitchin area
Discussion
I can't recommend anyone, I'm afraid. Just a warning to keep away from our traveler friends. It's not just tarmac they do! There is one which operates in your area, which looks like a genuine firm. They do live on a permanent site, though.
Had the police knocking on my door a couple of years back asking questions about them!

Personally I'd steer clear of printed concrete. Looks OK form a distance but not so nice up close IMHO.
We ummed and ahed over it before opting for a decent block instead.
I would disagree. Block paving looks better the first year but I still get people thinking our drive is new 4 Years on. Printed concrete is maintenance free, no weeds, no refilling the gaps a quick jet wash once a year and all good. We ummed and ahed over it before opting for a decent block instead.
For comparison our printed drive and the neighbours block paving after a couple of years. I have a number of who did it if you're interested.

Sounds a lot to me. This was ours in large block, previously it was a double drive in tarmac with a concrete path to the side of the garage and house. Drive was extended to make it 3 cars wide and the block went down the side and also behind the garage. Total cost £4500 inc VAT. including all digging out, hardcore, drainage etc. Not sure how printed concrete costs compare though.
That's very nice, a bit of an easier area to work with and perhaps a bit smaller, but it does make the quote look expensive when you consider printed concrete should be less than good block paving.
I'll be getting a number of quotes, though if they stay at 7.5k I'll probably just shingle the lot for a few years.
