I'm the opposite. I'm looking forward to getting rid of my M3 and picking up a Tesla next year hopefully. Not sure bikes are there yet, but give it a few years.
My boss went to a Tesla test day last year. His smile and excitement when he talked about the acceleration said to me what it was like. Not for me but enjoy biggrin

I haven't got a clue about a bike but im guessing bloody heavy.

We are trying to sort out a electric vehicle at work at the moment, The vehicle looks as if its about the size of a Bedford Rascal Van. It needs a fork lift truck to lift the batteries in / out and costs the best part of £3000 to replace them eek

Depends on how much storage you need to carry. From memory stuff like the Energica etc are around 260kg, have 100kW motor and get up to 100 miles per charge. I think to replicate the performance and range of a current superbike you would be looking at over 300kg. Electric is probably a better thing for those HD Electraglide type of things where weight and top end power isn't much of a consideration. But then you have the charging thing. Although Tesla say that any other manufacturer has acces to their patents there is something about superchargers, which came up on the Jay Leno Garage video about the Mission R. Superchargers weren't available to them due to some software patent thing....

I had a go on a KTM E-XC, I've never done any off road stuff before so I'm not sure how it compares to a petrol version but it was very light and bloody quick. I'm sure if you're an experienced off roadist it may be a bit different but some of the lads I was on the day with ride some proper motocross bikes and they were pretty impressed.
I did find the lack of noise a bit weird at first but then I was concentrating so hard on not falling off I soon forgot about it !

Not sure if I can mention the place we used, but I have no affinity with them so I don't think I'm breaking any rules ?
