V8V Bot gas struts

Hi All,
does any one know if these are the same on V8 and V12 models?
I have a V12 bootlid on my V8 but it wont stay open...
i wondererd of it may be the extra weight due to the larger spoiler lip.. or my old struts are just knackererd?

I assume these just pry off on the ball joints and new ones snap into place
