I have a silver coloured Pan European.

I have a wife who doesn't really know her bikes.

If I buy a silver coloured 2016 Yamaha FJR, do you think my wife will notice?

I you buy her a bunch of flowers or a pair of earrings I reckon it'd be months before she realised.
Treat yourself to a private plate to help the cover up!

do it!

Swap the plates over as well to be doubly sure.

Get a new wife...

She won't have a clue what the previous one knew or didn't know and you'll be away Scott free...

Getting a new bike is expensive enough!

Go for it, she won't notice a thing

I met a bloke a couple of years ago that had been doing that with Ducatis - got a new one every year. She just saw "a red motorbike".

I'm pretty sure my Wife wouldn't notice if any of my bikes were replaced as long as I kept the same colour scheme.

By the same token I wouldn't notice if she bought a new handbag or two...

I swapped my silver BMW F800 ST for a silver BMW K1200 R Sport, and my wife never cottoned on!

The other trick is to buy so many bikes of different shapes, sizes and colours that the just become "white noise" and another one just disappears into the scenery. Like a lone animal in a herd of zebra.
It works, ask me how I know... wink

Alternatively, only take them out the garage one at a time

Things have got so bad now I have people living in my estate knocking on the door asking if I do motorcycle servicing or repairs biggrin
It's like a shell game, bikes in or out of the garage o the van, being rotated and moved. Bless her,she can't keep up with the comings and goings. The other trick is some of the bikes aren't mine.. I'm housing them for mates who work away..
Plausible deniability see... wink

My other half never even noticed there was an extra bike in the garage let alone swapping one out, saying that she doesn't even notice when the lawns are cut and the house is clean rolleyes
Would I swap her for another idea Of course I would but I,m to busy to be bothered wink

I used that one as a 13 year old when my mum found my porn stash.

Even to someone who's into bikes, these two don't look that different:

If they're more or less the same colour, I reckon you'd get away with it. wink

My wife is too clued up for that to work, i got full approval to change mine just recently in advance, though I did not consult on the replacement as that was my choice. I couldn't possibly just replace it and not say anything they are too different lol and she rides scooters and small bikes.
From the picture I showed her of the speed triple I got asked why it was such a large bike and I thought you were getting a smaller bike and engine, i said no it meets all that criteria so true on all counts compared to a blackbird. A pillion ride for her on the second day of ownership confirmed to her it is much smaller even though she said the pillion riding position was more comfortable ironically.

Good luck OP I hope it works lol
