Well its all back together... Glad I changed the filter, from the dates its never been changed! I have insured it and will MOT it on Tuesday and tax it... Lets see how it goes!

The side case looks good in bare ally... will keep an eye on it to see how it fairs...

MOT is booked for tomorrow... In the mean time I thought I would raise the handlebars up a bit from standard. I made these riser spacers on the lathe and milling machine. I would have had them water jet cut, but that would take a week, and as I had some time and material handy, I cut them out. they rise the bars up by 22mm and back a few degrees.

Well... I have been riding it around for a week.... have to say I quite like it! My wife certainly finds it more comfortable on the back of this than our Harley V-ROD...

the riding position was still not right for me though... the angle down on the bars was too much, but that was an easy fix. I mounted the risers in the milling machine again and packed them out to 12 degrees, and then milled them flat. I had to re- drill the holes slightly oversize and mill the bottom of the recess flat so the bolts sat at the right angle in the holes, easy stuff though.

This has almost made the bars horizontal when you view them from the front of the bike, that with the height adjustment, and the 7 degrees to the rear is near perfect for me now. I will be putting a few more miles on it in the next few weeks.

Thought i would update this.... The Ducati lasted a month with me.... To be honest, i liked the bike, but I didnt love it. I didnt like it enought to spend what would have been a lot of time and effort on to turn it into a street fighter, and then not use it. Made a fair few quid on selling it though, so that has added to the cash pot to buy somthing else

But i am really struggling to think what....
