This is the first scooter I've ever ridden. I have literally no reason to own it but it's a laugh and cheap. It's quite a bit quicker than I was expecting to be honest, it accelerates pretty well and it'll do 80+ easily enough. Not tried wheelies yet given that I am crap at them but it's worth a go! It does do big skids though.
The girlfriend was absolutely mortified when I turned up to take her home from work which was funny and someone even shouted "BELLEND" at us from a bus stop!
It's good fun for something so cheap, all in including tax and insurance it was less than £500!

This'll be boring to most of you but I thought I'd update the thread with what I've been doing with the scooter, So this was it as I got it;
I had some time today to clean it up a bit, cosmetically it isn't the best but all the panels are there and in one piece so I'm happy. First job was to remove this;
I'm not sure what it's meant to be but so far it's been called the playboy bunny. There was another on the back and a weird mushroom thing on the other side. A heatgun and a bit of wd40 got rid of those. Next were the scrapes in the plastic from presumably where it has been dropped/crashed previously.
I used some wet and dry to take the worst of it away. I'm not sure if sanding it right down would look ok but I'm sure someone here will know. Honestly I don't think I could be arsed doing it for that long.
Next was cleaning, polishing and loads of auto finesse revive to bring the plastics up. This is what I started with;
One of the during shots;
This is what I ended up with;
Next was little glove box thing;
Finally under the seat;
Just wiping that with some brake cleaner produced this;
There were many cloths looking like that by the time I'd finished, it's amazing how dirty things get without looking like they are! Some more revive ended up with this;
Plans now are to ride it for a while. I may treat it to a new front mudguard to replace the cracked one. The idea was to buy it and sell it on but I think I'll keep it for a while. Despite everyone's hatred for scooters, I quite like it, certainly more than the 900 divvy I just got rid of. If anyone is still awake, well done for getting to the end!

Top polishing! I hadn't heard of auto finesse revive (I'm new at this) - must get some.
It's awesome on plastics, does a good job of bringing them back up. Lasts ages too, I bought a bottle maybe 2 or 3 years ago now. Once I'd put that on I put Bullet Hi Shine sealant over the top so the water just beads off it now.SAS Tom said:

The slightly modiifed Playboy bunny was the official logo of the Spanish X-Max owners club (CX stands for 'Club X-Max'). I bought the bike from their president back in 2009, after he upgraded to a Multistrada. Plenty of useful info there in case you ever run into technical issues: http://www.clubxmax.com
The scuffs you see are just evidence of city riding in its home town of Barcelona, where it's considered a full contact sport.
