Yamaha MT10 - Anyone seen one?
Discussion
Looking for a Yamaha dealer South London... so I think Laguna may have one.
I am really looking forward to the test ride. Convinced my brother we should by either a pair of these or S1000R's.
Having watched the 44th review, the MCN review and Bike World review this bike looks like so much fun.

I nipped into Chorley Yamaha today, they have at least two black ones and a grey one.
The grey one with yellow wheels is absolutely fking vomit inducingly God awfully ste. It looks like it's been painted in glossy primer and is best described as battleship grey.
The black one is a bit more interesting, but no way would they be on my list of possibles if I was looking for a naked bike.

I test rode one yesterday...............
The engine is brilliant with a great noise and lots of midrange torque, enough to lift the front off the throttle in 3rd, 1st and 2nd are crazy. I found myself in 2nd, 3rd and 4th for most of my 1 hour ride.
the suspension is too hard
the seat is really hard and uncomfortable for more than half an hour which is odd becuase it doesn't look it
the steering and handling is brilliant, sharp steering and stable too
the standard screen is ok to about 100mph, much more functional than it looks
I didn't notice much difference in the engine maps, standard is fine
the traction control needs to be in 1 or 2, 3 lets it wheelie and then cuts the power abruptly so make you look and feel a fool
Its very like a modern incarnation of an Aprilla Tuono which I loved, it's not as rough and vibey as that though and hopefully it won't fall apart.
Its a tough choice. At £10000 its the equivalent of a base model S1000r but as they are rare and I would not want one you need to put the bits on it that take it up to S1000r sport spec, comfort seat (they fit the uncomfortable seat as standard?!?!?), quick shifter, heated grips and an exhaust as it is loud enough but not not enough for me whereas the S1000r is. It needs a screen imo but so does the S1000r, you still don't have the high tech suspension.
I love the grey and fluro, black just looks drab.
My local dealer got 6 in and they are all sold.
+ I still love my GSXR1000, it has heated grips, re done suspension which is great, quick shifter and higher bars.

the suspension is too hard I thought this initially, but then I got onto faster A roads and country lanes where it came into its own

the steering and handling is brilliant, sharp steering and stable too it certainly didn't feel its claimed 210kg wet
the standard screen is ok to about 100mph, much more functional than it looks I still felt okay at a fair bit more than this but not sure how long I would be able to keep it up
I didn't notice much difference in the engine maps, standard is fine I did. A big difference in acceleration between standard and B

I loved it, great fun but I could see me losing my licence in no time.....I lack restraintThe engine is brilliant with a great noise and lots of midrange torque, enough to lift the front off the throttle in 3rd, 1st and 2nd are crazy.
