If the bike is making you money then why begrudge it servicing costs? Its offset to a certain degree isn't it.

Will be interesting to see what they cut out the service in order to meet the new cut cost.

A valve clearance check is a head off the engine job and it needs to be left with them overnight ideally so it's stone cold. £370 is actually pretty reasonable considering it's including that.

.
Which bmw needs the head to be removed to do a valve clearence check?

None of them, just the rocker cover.

Sounds about right for a major service at a premium main dealer. Local indies I can think of wouldn't be *that* much cheaper, perhaps £20 per hour less on the labour rate...parts are still a similar price

Indeed, i assumed it too. Changed one of the rocker covers on the bike last weekend. The original had scratches on it from an "incident" with my garage door frame.

3 bolts and about 2 minuits.

Another garage quoted me £279 for all of the same work AND a final drive oil change. only issue is they are in Gloucestershire, a long way from me.

Maidenhead garage came down to 290. Close enough.

As for simply not paying it, its still 100 quid. And i dont like getting mugged off.
