Revzilla did a video on the Rokker Black Jakket. Their stuff strikes me as being a set of textiles disguised as denim, whereas other riding jeans are less technical.

I'm tempted by their Extreme Jacket, which looks like a Belstaff or Barbour design, and matching Revolution Extreme trousers. But they're not cheap, and I'm not sure how much wear they'd get once my leathers arrive.

How do the Rokker owners feel about the gear? Is it as protective as a full set of textiles? Worth the money?

Rokker Revolution jeans (I can echo the comments on quality above)
Vanson vented leather jacket or Rokker black jacket (looks like black denim but is abrasion+water resistant and has d3O armour)

SS7
My Rokker Revolution jeans (which I got from my mate who is the importer) were excellent on my euro tour the week before last - however in the heat we had even they were very hot. They need a wash now. They do look great though - with my Styl Martin boots I look like a normal person when I get off the bike. There's nothing worse than huge bulky textiles or sweating blokes in arse-sagging leathers with squeaking Sidi boots.

I need a jacket to go with them - I'm presuming that's the "black jakket" you've got?
You're so right...nothing, absolutely nothing worse.

Pistonheads Biker Banter: It's a bleedin' fashion parade, so God forbid you look like a biker!

Yeah, thats what you have to get your head around. Ive tried 1/2 dozen types of protective bike jeans over the last 5 years. At the cheap end of the market, you get some thin denim with a couple of patches of "kevlar like stuff" and call them bike jeans, for £60

In between there are a few good brands making different variations of jeans with armour, lined with a "kevlar like" material. Downside is you have 2 or 3 layers of thick material in order to protect you. Great, but not achieving the goal of much cooler than leather.

Rokker have taken a different approach and the denimo cotton like material itself is actually woven with some abrasion resistant thread. So its single layer, looks and feels like denim cotton. Then the laminated layer is a waterproof/windproof breathable membrane (like most good textiles) add in a good jean style cut, D30 hip and knee armour (adjustable) and you have some non leather protective bike trousers that look like denim jeans.

Rokker warranty them; if they wear through in an accident, you get a new pair for free. I like that, but thinking about it, its a pretty safe bet on their part and good marketing wink

Rokker aren't the only ones to weave abrasion resistant materials into their denim. Held and Rev'it both do the same thing each with models with a laminated waterproof membrane.

Not looking like a biker seems to be high on many peoples list of priorities. I don't see why it is such a problem for so many and it's hard to not look like a biker when you're carrying a helmet round with you.

I wear the jeans because I only wear leathers on track and I tried textile trousers, they ended up melted on hot parts of the bike. So jeans it is for me smile

..not too bothered about "looking like I arrived by bike" wink
