Further info?

Price range?
Type of riding? commuting, fun, main transport etc
Where is it staying? Garage/Street
Where are you riding? Town/City/Rural
Self maintenance or dealer?

You seem to be drawn to 125cc sports bike styling; any particular reason?

The more info you can give, the better.

I expect that Aprillia will go for more than the £1000 budget

The Yamaha is already over budget and with a buy it now of 2.5k I would guess his reserve is set at about 2k

You need to set your sights lower or increase your budget

Like Fleegle said; that will have a reserve of around £2k. Even if he does accept lower, someone will snap his hand off before it hits your £1k budget.

I've never owned an Aprilia 125, so can't comment on that bike specifically. What I will say is that at around the £1k, you probably won't get a tidy 125. You'll either get a couple of year old Chinese bike that needs tidying up or a tired Japanese/Premium Marque that needs some work doing to it.

Unfortunately the market for 125cc bikes is strong and prices stay quite high for Honda/Yamaha/Aprilia/Suzuki 125 bikes; especially anything that has 'street cred'.

Your options are; increase your budget to circa £1,500 - £2,000 or buy a tired one and spend a bit of money doing it up. You'll learn about the bike and might even eventually sell it for the same price or minimal loss.

There is a third option though; quite a few dealers do 0% finance on 125 bikes. I know that Sutton Motorcycles (Honda) are doing it at the moment.

Hope that helps.

Have you any experience of working on 2 strokes? These are temperamental little fookers and will frustrate you if you are unable to keep on top of the maintenance. They are quick for a 125 and great fun, but you will need deep pockets and a friendly mechanic if you are no good with spanners

Don't get a 2 stroke then..

My opinion would be to get a Sinnis Apache/Pulse Adrenaline, easy to ride, maintain and I had loads of fun on mine.

You should be able to get a relatively new one in your budget, in my opinion (Have to say that on here..) they are a perfect first bike as they are cheap to buy, cheap to maintain and they can withstand they abuse it will be given!

Here was mine, I actually really miss it hehe
