Guys,

Having issues with my back and as such it's a bit stiff after a ride ! (Ohh ahh)

So the bike is a cbr600 f sport. Options are risers or a yoke by a company called cnc that allow you to fit rentals.

What's the opinions ? Anyone done it ?

Mrs Ps 2001 CBR600 has (unknown make) bar risers fitted, only an inch or so but as the ladies know, it makes all the difference..

Its as comfy on the back as the 2000 VFR800 I briefly owned anyway.

Is that just a spacer? That will do interesting things to geometry surely?

Are the bars the same on a Fi and F Sport of that age? Could the Fi have slightly higher bars that will fit?

As above, those spacers would mean the yoke having to slide down the fork legs, I guess you're lowering the front of the bike rather than raising the rider??

In experience, the CBR600F isn't actually great on your back. I have one, for me it felt somewhere between the CB500 and a supersport bike, but often offers the worst of both worlds. Personally I struggle to tuck in for sporty rides but also wrecked my knees and wrists on longer ones. I did a few 300 miles a day runs and by the third day I was utterly broken. My mate in his SV650 was much better off.

I would suggest another bike entirely, but Gilles supply fully adjustable risers, I'd also want adjustable rearsets as well as the current set up isn't great even with bars moved. Don't forget you'll probably need new clutch and throttle cables, and possibly front brake lines. These may be part of a kit, but don't expect it to be cheap. Premium stuff is going to cost you the best part of £700 (with rearsets which you may not need). You could get the cheap st off eBay for about £150 and take you chances.

My understanding is the difference between sport vs. non-sport, is just the seat.

You'll need masses of preload adjustment to sort it I think... Or live with very flighty steering.

They changed the forks too, FS had fully adjustable, hence my thinking other things 'up front' may have been changed too.

The sport was just the seat changed, and the centre stand deleted.

They all had fully adjustable suspension until, I believe, about 2005 when Honda replaced it with more budget items. Probably because of the relatively recent introduction of the 600RR.

I have the non-sport version in the garage, it has fully adjustable Showa Suspension.

When o was looking at mine I seem to think the engine is very slightly different, only slight can't recall what it was.

Anyway back on subject I'm thinking of this

They look smart but surely you still need cables, brake lines, and renthals so a kit may be a cheaper, simpler option?

I had the non sport same model CBR600F for me that riding position was fine.
If you think the CBR600F is odd riding position try the standard Honda Blackbird, that gave me lower back pain.

I sorted it on that my old blackbird with risers which moved the clipons up and back a little - personally OP give that a go first. You already have pic posted by someone else of this spacer style riser. These are easiest to fit, no new cables, top yokes or bars grips etc to move.

Seat and engine valve springs are the only difference F to F sport on those - I owned the non sport F4i

If the spacer risers are like the ones I used on my blackbird you get new extended fork caps with the kit too.. no geometry changes you are literally just raising the clipons and maybe moving them towards you too a little.
