Why not? Still a place going for Sunday
Erm.... dare i admit on a public forum... it's V Festival weekend. About 10 of us have been going for the last 15 years or so (since when it was actually good). Bad habits and not wanting to grow up mean it's still an annual event! L9 ACP said:
Arse, missed this thread
I'm there tomorrow only with a mate on his MV. We'll be camped out in the carpark near the cafe. Looking forward to meeting a few of you hopefully.
I'll be on blue /orange gsxr 750 in inters with pistonheads stickers on fairings
See you there

Just saw this - left my phone at home so didn't see this at the track. How old is your 750? Someone came past me on a blue and orange bike (would say an older model) like I was stood still - unsurprisingly i didn't have time to check if there were PH stickers on it!I'm there tomorrow only with a mate on his MV. Was a good first day. Weather held until the last group came in. But blustery but can't complain.
You and your mate have a good one?

Had a great weekend especially as the weather held off for us
My only complaint is about people thinking they are better than they really are. There was at least a dozen people in the fast group yesterday that were out their depth. For safety's sake this really needs to be addressed before someone gets really hurt due to differences in closing speeds on corners. It may be up to the faster rider to take care when passing, but some of the lines taken yesterday by the inexperienced was asking for trouble. It's maybe time that all UK trackdays are timed by the TDO to ensure people are in the correct group. There's no shame in being in the Novices or the Inters group.....everyone has to start somewhere

Ditto on both points. My only complaint is about people thinking they are better than they really are. There was at least a dozen people in the fast group yesterday that were out their depth. I had more near-misses with other riders in two days there than the last two years doing Euro trackdays.

I've only been to one track (Jerez) and with the same organiser and they have compulsory transponders and use them to change peoples groupings after each session. I thought that was the norm until I read on here that it isn't. Is it normal in Euro track days but not in UK only? Or is it just specific organisors? There is a particular unliked by many TDO that runs transponder timing. I had thought common sense would prevail in the UK, but too many tattoo'd short wearing, beanie hat clad Neanderthals all think they are fast group material because their pride won't let them become ammo for their mates to rip the piss out of.I didn't think I'd say it, but that fatso gobshyte is leading the way on this one. Transponders is the way forward in the UK. Still not bothered about it appearing on Euro trips though, as there is far less angst on them....a much more relaxed time than a home td

I guess with a transponder you can claim any time/group you want but when you don't back it up and get moved down you can't really complain. We get them by email after each session, and then they have a list with everyone's fastest times from each group over by the organisers pit. They just pop around to each garage with the other bands/stickers and tell you what group you're in. I've never seen anyone complain about being moved up/down yet, but I've only done a few days. They do have a lot of people who just book into any group though when other groups are booked up which must be annoying for the organisors and the guys in the faster groups. But I think it's usually people booking down a group rather than up a group.
The last time I went to Snetterton as usual in the novice group there was a guy on a Repsol Honda with Repsol leathers going round Riches with his knee and elbow down.
There was no way on god's earth he was a novice and should have been moved.
It is a testosterone bloke thing.
I have to say I love Euro track trips now it is so much more chilled and people are more sensible with three days wizzing round....... and the all that Cava!!!

That happens on Euro days too. The next one I'm doing they're testing out a 'special' fast group where people pay extra and they have less people on track so no one in the way. Now that would be fine... except most of the fast group riders don't want to pay the extra so have gone to inters instead, and other fast riders who didn't sign up in time for inters (which got booked out fast) have booked novice. So there's guys doing 2 minute laps in Novice, and there's a guy who does 1.50's who's in inters. It was a good idea, but they should have made it an extra group or something instead of replacing the fast group with it. There was no way on god's earth he was a novice and should have been moved.
