Yesterday, the auto air con fan failed to operate on my 2012 R56 MINI Cooper S.
It gave no prior warning signs of it's demise. Before I contact a garage I thought I would conduct a few checks of my own.
Initially, I thought I would check the fuse. But I am having difficulty ascertaining which fuse I should be looking at. I have checked both fuse box covers and cannot determine which symbol refers to the correct fuse. There are several which have fan symbols on them, but they are contained within a radiator symbol. There is also one with the aircon snowflake symbol.
Could anyone please assist me with which fuse I need to be checking? Also, if there are any other checks a man of limited mechanical knowhow could conduct prior to handing over the keys to a garage?

is the battery fully charged?
when your battery starts to degrade it cuts off some functions.

I believe it is. I haven't noticed any other issues. I could put it on charge to make sure?

did it work?

my 2008 cooper, got in one morning and the blower & radio stopped working.
put it on charge over night, and they worked again... and the stop start started working, up until then i didn't realise it had stop start.

long shot... but hopefully its the same issue

Just had the opportunity to connect the charger. Battery condition doesn't look too bad. But am going to leave it on charge for a few hours anyway. It's worth a punt.
Radio has still been working and haven't noticed any other issues.
