can I suggest getting a can of acf-50 promptly and going over the front inner tubes religiously. I do it at least once a month with a rag.

Thanks for the advice, already got a can of ACF 50. Its my thing to keep the fork stanchions really clean wipe over after every ride and a coat of ACF. Corrosion on my bike was just the bottom fork yoke.

I seem to remember Shock Factory got reasonable reviews against cost.
Hagon is the budget option. The only one I had years ago on a VFR750 was daftly oversprung, maybe they figure all bikers are fat these days (whereas actually only 75% are).
Nitron is the banker.

Also over the winter I hope to get around to supercharging it with TTS kit, so maybe worthwhile upgrade with that in mind.
If you're going to supercharge it I'd suggest throwing the original rods and pistons in the nearest bin and fitting Carrillo rods and pistons by any of the big names, Wiseco, JE, CP etc

JE made some custom forged pistons based on a 955i for my 1050 as the 1050 piston is recessed to lower the compression slightly. I also use nikasil wet liners from the 955 instead of the standard iron liners in the 1050, in theory the 955 liner is too short but there is always a way wink

1050 Speed triple piston on the left, 955i on the right

Custom JE 955i piston

Carrillo vs standard Triumph rods.

As you can see the Carrillo is bushed to help prevent 'pick up' on the little end which 1050's suffer from when wheelied excessivly.
