The Chatsworth Gathering, designated the TVR national ‘season finale’, is located in the heart of the Peak District amongst the beautiful setting of Chatsworth House during early autumn. Chatsworth provides a perfect backdrop to our gathering and nearly 300 cars made it to the Sunday meeting last year. Alongside us in our reserved parking and meeting space there will be stands full of TVR-related goods, hot and cold food will be available, and there will also be reduced cost of entry to the Chatsworth House and Gardens if you want a change of scenery. Simply show your TVRCC Membership Card at the point of purchase!

It all starts at 10.00am on the Saturday for the High Peaks Run (see Kev's post for further details) and 10.00am on the Sunday for the Chatsworth Gathering itself. Cost of tickets for entry is £5.00 if pre-booked (just contact the Club Office: Tel No: 01952 822126 or email: office@tvrcc.com ) and £7.00 on the day, collect at the gate. We are aiming for many more than 300 cars this year, so please book early! smile

Further details about the Chatsworth Gathering can be obtained from Tony Hodgson : ro@tvrcc-south-yorks.co.uk

Anybody can turn up and pay 'on the gate' (£7.00)
I expect you would need to be a club member to pre-book - but I don't know what checks are made by the Office wink
Maybe time to join up - you may find some other events worth getting the discount from?
Non TVRs have a special area to park in on the day, as well.
Cheers.Tony

Just out of interest, how much of this goes to the Club (to spend on whatever) and how much to Chatsworth?

( yes, if I were a member I could probably find out if I trawled through the annual accounts)

The Club gets nowt Mike! As do those sorting out and running around on the day. Chatsworth take the entry fees and any trader fees. The Club are just happy to arrange a meeting and run out in glorious surroundings.
I imagine it may even cost them money, since they spend some office staff time on collecting pre-bookings and looking after the van at the event. I have never really explored the Club accounts, but I believe that nearly all their income is from membership fees and that a large proportion of that goes on the Sprint magazine.

Will it be Taimar or S??? wink

Here are a few reminders of last year's event. We are looking forwarded to lots more cars gathering this year. I'll post some important travel news tomorrow, following a final meeting with the Chatsworth gurus . . .

Cheers. Tony.

CHATSWORTH TRAVEL NEWS
On Sunday 2 October, Chesterfield is hosting a half marathon run. This means that Chesterfield will be a no-go area for the morning at least, as they are closing many roads around the centre and, significantly, the A617 from the M1. Do NOT use J29 from the M1 to get to Chatsworth on Sunday, as the area will be snarled up with local and diverted traffic. We do not anticipate any problems on Saturday, for the run-out from Chatsworth.

Although local diversions will be in place, we suggest that you consider the following routes:

From the M1 South – Exit the M1 at J28 and head for Alfreton on the A38. You can then go through Matlock (very scenic!) and head to Chatsworth from there.
From the M1 North – Exit the M1 at J34, go under the Tinsley viaduct and take the A631/ Sheffield bypass; Prince of Wales Road; then Head towards Dronfield and Owler Bar, then to Chatsworth.
If you are heading West from the Mansfield area, or prefer to skirt around Sheffield altogether – Exit the M1 at J30 and head for Eckington, then Dronfield, then up to Owler Bar and on to Chatsworth.

We strongly advise you to avoid the M1 at J29 and the local area around Chesterfield.
The roads should re-open later in the afternoon.
Do not worry unduly, unless you are driving from close by the area it is likely that Google Maps or you Sat Nav would not be taking you via the J29 in any case!

Passing through Uttoxeter, join us for breakfast?

wondered whether anyone fancies meeting up for a cooked breakfast en route at 'The Little Chef' on the A50 at Uttoxeter (ST14 5AA) at say 8:15am then doing the last 35 mile run up the A515 to Chatsworth in convoy? If we left The Little Chef at 9:00am we'd be at Chatsworth just before opening time at 10am?
