If your doing an indicated 130 and you see blue lights. Run.

Just wind it up 160+ and get the fk out of there and hide. I for one am not going to prison for speeding. I don't know who stole my bike and was riding that fast but it sure as hell wasn't me. I am not that crazy.
You probably wouldn't go to prison for an indicated 130...you'd definitely go to prison for winding it up to 160+ and failing to stop though.

Is that seriously what you would do?
Seem to remember Merseyside Traffic getting an Evo VI. When the journalist asked if there were cars with a higher top speed the officer just said, "nothing faster than radio!"

I only know one person who outran a police car. He only just managed it and is fking fast. He had very little time to take his bike apart in the garage (and was burned quite badly in the process!) even then the copper was quite clear he knew it was him.

As for outrunning two police bikes on a road they know inside out, with no urban areas to force them back, and with few turns to lose them, you're dreaming. Say what you want about police bikers but they really aren't slow, even on FJR1300s.
Did some road riding with a now-retired met police friend, was offered some advice (they did training and bike-safe stuff as well as training and teaching ROSPA examiners), and was commended on my riding by them and we were making some progress that day! After an apple-juice in a bar somewhere in Wales, we said 'see you back at the hotel' (where we'd started from).

We all pulled out from the car park at the same time, by the time we'd reached the second junction, they'd just fskced off... gone, nowhere to be seen, and I thought the riding we'd done earlier was quick.

On the track, however, I was several seconds faster, as it was hard for them to get out of the road-riding mental state.

But yeah, on a road, even if they don't know it well, I wouldn't take my chances trying to outrun one.

I'm on the A85. I've just seen my sixth copper in ten miles as they're out for the bikers today. Most are in villages where I religiously adhere to speed limits anyway so it's not an issue. The coppers point their guns at me, and I nod and smile from behind the iridium visor I just bought and instantly regret wearing. Most ignore me, some wave back<snip>
Just wanted to say I liked the Macbeth reference in the title (-:

Might have been a Highways Agency car. Hard to tell the HATO black and yellow Battenberg pattern from the police blue and yellow Battenberg apart when you are going 130-150+mph wink
Many times I have seen Police pretend to not see bikes who disappear, just 3 days ago a pair tried to turn after seeing me cross a solid white line, yet gave up seconds later as they knew that they weren't going to catch up with a 65hm single vs 45hp singles.

Several Box Hill/Chelsea Bridge heroes seemed to be on some "don't chase" list after humiliations, and yes, that goes for the bike cops too, very well ridden BMW /Pan/FJ13 don't get close to well ridden sports bikes no matter what the slower ones tell you

I'd say so. I can't see how the absolute cornering speed or top speed of a bike really has any relevance unless it kicks off somewhere with absolutely no other traffic or on a closed road. It's not the IoM TT out there. In reality it's going to boil down to how dumb and/or willing to take risks you are to try and get away. You'd have to be as skillful on the road as the police rider AND willing to do maneouvres they won't do even when they're lit up like a xmas tree to help people see them.
