Obviously some welsh place names have English equivalents (Caerdydd / Cardiff), I'd guess the Paris example is probably closer to that. If you took another French city, e.g. Bordeaux, you would pronounce it boar-dough not board-ee-awks.
Anyway, I couldn't really care less how people pronounce them, welsh words are hard to pronounce for non-welsh speakers, there's still loads of great roads to enjoy in Wales and it's cool that people do it.
The earlier suggestion about the wye valley past tintern abbey is a good one although, it is a long way from the other roads mentioned in north and mid Wales.

I live in Leintwardine, just south of Clun.The roads are amazing and empty.

The Evo triangle is not the best road for bikes, but the road described through the forest is great to ride both ways, several times and the bit near the pub being the best of it. At the other end, the triangle continues to the left, and left again at the end of Denbigh moor if you wish to complete it, but be cautious of Denbigh moor going that way, in fact both as a recent fatality occurred the other way too. The left option for the triangle has a particular bump on what appears to be a fast approach to a left, but it is in the braking area, and can have you clean out of the seat as it's not obvious. Personally a better route is turn right at the end of the forest section over Denbigh moor and either carry on to Denbigh and A&D bike shop for Sams café or facilities, and back again to the bend with a few houses, and take that road signed to Llannsarnan? Good road, with bend after bend, and some challenges, but at the end you can go left towards Lanrwst, when there this will take you back towards the A5 by going left again, or right and over the bridge and next left instead for a better road.
People always go on abouth the Evo triangle, but for bikes or cars there are so many better roads. The one mentioned before over Blaenau moor to the A4212 which goes to Bala can be one of the most rewarding clear road runs, especially if you're fortunate enough to get a clear run from Bala back to the A5 which is unlikely.
Watch it around Corwen, from Ponderosa to the A5 as it has a nasty incident rate and is now a posted 50 with static camera vans, but a very good road, and actually some safe overtake spots which are ace when you are used to the road, but the incidents are usually always where those overtake opportunities are not as you might imagine.
Road to Capel Curig is good, parts of the A5 from Pentrefoelas to Betwys Y Coed, or from Waterloo bridge back to Ffestinog and onto the A470 again over the moor road, all good, sorry if spelling isn't right.
They do surface dress around the moor roads at random, but that will be done with by now most likely, and long enough ago to not be loose, but be aware that's all.
This time of year tractors are a plenty even later on.
Only advice round all of here is be prepared for another version of you coming the other way when considering overtakes, these are quick roads for some, not me particularly although not really slow, but some make you feel like you're in reverse!
Help the locals tolerate us and do nearer 30 in the 30's because to be fair, they're very good making room for us in the main, and no i'm not Welsh, but the consideration is frequently generous in my experiences, and many seem to like the bikes.
Anyway, just my 2p

There speaks a man who knows The Triangle. That bump itaken at speed in a car can severely comprise your ability to loose the required amount of speed for the next lefthander if hit at a large number of Leptons in a stiffly sprung car 
I've made it to the b&b. 290 miles, an extra 40 as incompletely misread the signs and got on the wrong way at the m4 and started heading back to London! It was only when I realised 20 miles later I should be going the other way. Was not impressed.
The roads are fantastic around here. And the views are even better.
I've been incredibly lucky with the weather, once I left Dorset it stopped. Little bit in the beacons, but other than that nothing.
I'll upload photos once I'm back on Thursday. I'm possibly going to try and do the mile long zip line they have near Bangor, only downside is its £60!

Definitely do the zip wire! It's at Bethesda. You get a small one and the big one for your £60 - you won't regret it.
