Helmet cam ******
Discussion
I agree with the indignation but ultimately you were OK. If she had run you down I'm not sure that this footage would have been of much consolation, hence my reluctance to join the camera brigade. I'm in agreement with the wing mirror take down strategy. It seems a fair trade in the circumstances.

Whilst you've not done anything illegal, to me it looks like you were riding too fast and barely compensated for her illegal and completely retarded driving.
No offence.
I came to a complete stop a couple feet from the curb and waited for her to run me over whilst debating in my mind if I should bail from the bike all together. No offence.
Please tell me what else i should have done?
I watched it again mate, I stand by what I said. She's a complete mouth-breather, but you slowed down very little if at all for a bend. You could have given yourself more time if you were riding slower.
I'm not disputing who is legally at fault, I'm just offering genuine criticism. Besides, isn't it a GS? Surely the sensible option, would have been to mount the kerb and carry on?

I do like that corner, nice smooth tarmac.I'm not disputing who is legally at fault, I'm just offering genuine criticism. Besides, isn't it a GS? Surely the sensible option, would have been to mount the kerb and carry on?
Kerb did cross my mind, needs a slightly greater angle of attack to get up it without falling off though
Point taken though, i guess going a bit slower, in hindsight, would have allowed a little more space. But i really wasent going that fast.

Slowed very little for the bend? He was at a standstill 100 yards before that, doesn't look like he floored it once the car was out of the way either... That looked like pretty standard riding to me, any slower and he would have had a wobble!

Why shouldn't you be doing any speed you like up to the speed limit, until you see a hazard?I watched it again mate, I stand by what I said. She's a complete mouth-breather, but you slowed down very little if at all for a bend. You could have given yourself more time if you were riding slower.

The visibility into the road is good, I'd accelerate at it up to the speed limit. Then when I saw the oncoming car would take action as necessary.
OP seems to have done just that, slowed when he saw what was coming round the bend. I'm not about to ride everywhere at 10mph on the off chance that some muppet might be coming through the bend at 60mph on the wrong side.
If you applied your logic to your riding everywhere you'd never get out of first gear except long straight roads with perfect visibility, no other vehicles and no junctions.
I dislike the proliferation of cameras. Do you always ride in such an angelic fashion that you would be happy for someone else to film you?
riding looks fine to me - and reaction, pulling over and querying the standard of driving, looks spot on as well. Can see why you might *sometimes* take the corner at greater speed - but hey! - hooning in built up areas is bad mmk.
To me the only situation where a piece of ride footage should really be used would be where something 'concrete' actually happened. An accident for instance, maybe a violent action from a driver etc. Not where someone's piss poor driving has narked you.

But if they drive like that, the chances are they will do it again. The next time the other road user, or pedestrian, might not be so lucky.
The proliferation of gadgets in a car, be they built in or handheld, are not a good idea for the average driver who appears to take no pride in driving properly and is so easily distracted.
I was in my car the other day and had a transit driver heading for me on my side of the road. Yes, he was looking down at his phone, tapping away. Head on collision was avoided by me swerving onto a clear pavement.
He didn't even noticed and continued his journey on the wrong side of the road for a good 100 yards more.
Good job I was in my old BMW as it can take curbs in it's stride. If I had been in my newest car, a lot of tyre/wheel/suspension damage would have occurred.

Looked like she thought it was a two lane exit, ie one way.
'thought' may be pushing it a little - but I do have a (minuscule) degree of sympathy for this ^^^ opinion.not being a biker my thought is.... dob her in. No question absolute 'tard she needs a severe talking to

I'm not wanting a row here, you've got your opinion, I've got mine. We watched the same clip, and we're all motorcyclists, so there's nothing to argue about.
Besides it's nothing compared to this bloody biker that nearly hit me this morning when I was in my Nissan Micra.
Did you miss the crucial part of the Kardashian robbery video?Besides it's nothing compared to this bloody biker that nearly hit me this morning when I was in my Nissan Micra.
