You old fart, I bet you sit in front of your coal fire listening to the Archers on your analogue radio or sit swearing at your old analogue sky box wondering why it's not working.

Pete, it's old fella's like you that will bring motorcycling to its knees.

I love a bit of engineering on a Friday evening. Interesting conversation gentlemen. For the avoidance of doubt the 108 crank horsepowers and 57 ft/lb of torques peak developed by my TT600 scare the bejabbers out of me so I am unsure whether I will ever complain about what any Fireblade has to offer. Did watch a video of one of the sales guys at Two Wheels in Edinburgh completely smoking a group of Fireblades on his NC700 with the dual-clutch transmission. Just goes to show that biggest impediment to progress on most bikes is the rider.

Haha - it's not enough to fk off from people - you have to do it on a bike that has zero 'aids' to truly hammer home the point smile

I too still have an analogue bike an old 04 R1 without even a slipper clutch. Pah, beat that!

Not in Slick Mode, which is how I usually run mine on the road. Not because I fancy myself as some road racer, purely because the Anti wheelie makes it feel broken otherwise.
+1 to that the BMW systems always seemed clunky to me compared to the ZX10R in that respect but the power was intoxicating.

I sold my RR7. Miss it but despite being Repsol colours it wasn't unique. I got close to getting the SP but they're all ABS versions left, and hate the exhaust, and gone is the hydraulic clutch. The SP2 is sounding better, with kits available that do make it a special, but still has a cable clutch I suspect, not the end of the world though but I don't like them. The exhaust is better, however if the bike isn't available now, I can't see I'll ever own one, as with the rule changes from January in the U.K. having to meet Euro 4 emissions will dictate that at mot time, chances are the kit I will have installed will be an mot fail. Currently I only have to place tape over my exhaust where it says in several places, for race use only. Shame.

With 15kg lighter, it effectively is more powerful than others around. You'd be spending an awful lot of money lightening any bike by that value and still keeping it looking like it was intended. So in a power to weight world which few people reading brochures look into, it's a winner. The area under the curve only says we want as much of both values as we can have, but to achieve it the lines have to be high enough don't they, just starting as early as possible, for as long as possible, and as always, as high as possible. The other issue is physical size, it'll be smaller too possibly.

I do not think i have looked into Euro4 enough - are you saying if a bike comes as euro4 compliant, it has to stay euro4 compliant? i.e. no after market exhaust mods, straight through exhausts etc?

No emissions test done at the mot at the moment so I would say as long as the aftermarket has road use stamped on it somewhere I do not see a problem.

A great bike instantly spoiled by the huge E4 Exhaust....... Totally spoils the whole look of an otherwise great bike.
