Main bad point is the appallingly stiff suspension, especially the front, can't dial it out sadly.
This was one of the main reasons i sold my Speed Triple R

Even with the Ohlins set soft, it was too much for everyday use on the road (for me anyway)

You should try a Diavel - the Triple R feels like a limo in comparison.

I've decided I'm going to get the Speed Triple R - just need to decide new or used.

Cheers for the input all!

What was the effect of the over-stiff (lol) front end? Just a lack of comfort or was it giving 'chatter' and disrupting the handling?

For me it was the harshness of the front-rear pitching that caused the discomfort for me.

Of course it wasn't helped by the type or roads around here, but also any sudden bump through the rear caused a lot of pain.
I've got the S1000r now and ion the same roads it perfect. (For me)

The Triumphs I've ridden don't come out of the factory with the suspension set up very well. They respond really well to setting the sag and getting the damping settings right. Ride into a suspension specialist and they'll do this for you for about £70 or watch some youtube guides to set it up yourself.

Also - they are supplied on Racetec K3s which are totally the wrong tyre for the bike. Too pointy and the carcass is too stiff. They run well on fast road or sport touring tyres with a rounder profile and a softer carcass - M7RRs are epic on them and Michelin PP3s feel good too. PR4s are lovely for ride quality too, so will help calm any harshness remaining.

You might well be close !
Had a v short run on a pal's 2016 Street Trip Rx which is tweaked slightly and has an Arrow can.
It felt very similar to my CB1000R in power but lighter. I could do with a longer run to see if I'd miss the 1 litre feel but could be tempted by a 2016 ex-demo bike and even a plain 'R' would do. Not convinced that the 'x' bit adds much.

Or do I wait for 'a new bike'in spring. Around March/April I'd say wink
