Dovi for this one, left field choice, but I've got a tenner on it!
You must be a very happy boy! Great shout.LOVE this sport for never knowing what to expect!
Pleased to see Jorge get a podium.
Although annoyingly, on Weds he was 40:1!

Interesting race. Great stuff from Dovi, he seemed to have plenty of pace in hand at the end. It's a shame it takes a very specific set of parameters for the Ducati to be right at the front, hope they can sort it for 2017 so we have 3 or 4 manufacturers genuinely on the pace.
And I know it's not popular to rate Rossi, but doing what he's doing at his age is incredible.

A little bit late but the concept of time is only just returning
After 8 days lazing around in Penang, we flew into KL to meet up with The Bass's. First stop after checking in........the bar. After being given details by another PHer (BerW) we discovered that the police had changed access for taxis for the F1 a few weeks previous, meaning the contact I had been given was no longer willing to do the trip. A trip to the local taxi counter saw the now Vietnam based Steve put his negotiation skills to use. Cost agreed, time agreed, back to the bar we went for some more very expensive drinks. For those that don't know, Malaysia whacks a huge duty on alcohol, so a small bottle of tiger and a glass of white wine will see little change from £20. I've never drunk so little!!
Saturday arrives and we meet the taxi driver as agreed. A diminutive little chap who went on to give us plenty of entertainment over the next few days with his unusual style of driving
First impressions upon arriving were good. Apart from the traffic being a little chaotic, access was easy and the crowd were processed quickly through the gates where you immediately felt the buzz of the crowd. Immediately it felt more atmospheric than my trip to Silverstone earlier in the season. We did the stalls and checked out where to buy beer before finding some seats in the Rossi stand. This stand is situated overlooking T1 -T3 with a partial view of T4/5. The weekend ticket for this stand cost £31 including fees. Bargain!!!
As expected, the rain came down during the qualifying, which made for exciting viewing. Bearing in mind how hard it comes down, I was surprised as to how so few of the riders chucked it down the road, so fair play to them. The biggest surprises I guess was Crutchlows last lap and Zarco's pole.....he looked so smoother than the rest
Leaving the circuit was as expected, poor traffic management but fortunately traffic wasn't too heavy. However, our driver was on a mission. He was a cross between Ayrton Senna and a time traveller, although he didn't hit the 175kmh I saw on the speedo that morning. We arrived at the hotel having survived the white knuckle ride and head straight for the bar for a stiff drink
Leaving half hour earlier on race day was a bit of a mistake. Race day coincided with Diwali celebrations making getting out of KL a nightmare. This wasn't helped by a record crowd attending the MotoGP so the closer we got, the slower we went. We managed to get there about 45 mins before moto3 and headed straight for the already almost full stand. Seats found and claimed, I headed off for the beer and water supplies.
The start of all 3 races was great. The noise in that stand from the 20+ - 30+ bikes accelerating out of turn 2 was loud enough to make your ears bleed. The VR crowd were full of enthusiasm and very vocal, however it has to be said that the football mentality that some people on here comment about was nowhere to be seen. Cal Crutchlows got a standing ovation once on his feet and MM got cheered (not jeered) and applauded as he came through T1 after getting back on.
A brilliant weekend and well worth the visit. The people, the place, the weather make this one to visit if you ever get the chance. It was a shame that 2 of the championships had been decided, but that didn't take the edge off the occasion
I'll sort some photo's out shortly

Great report that Tony , glad you and Lesley had a fun time and got to meet the Bassessss.
I guess you're a mere shadow of your former self due to the self imposed low holiday alcohol intake , but no doubt your neighbourly landlord ( pub) back home was at the airport to collect you in his Bentley ( which you paid for ...)
