With 9 points, no self-control, and enough money to successfully run a car, the GSXR is sleeping. Socks have been stuffed up her holes to keep the spiders out, and she's greased up with ACF50 under a cover. Much like the dead hooker in my chest freezer.

So the cold turkey already begins, I have three buckets, and a list of stuff to do in 2017:

1) Get the old CBR600F running.
2) Get two novice trackdays under my belt on said CBR.
3) Do a 2 day off road course.
4) At least one 4 day run around the Highlands and Islands.

Anybody else have any positive biking goals for 2017? A new bike perhaps? A tenth helmet? A trip to Bongo Bongo land on a GS?

With zero points

1 - I intend to push my luck again on these dangerous roads.
2 - Do the Ron Haslem racing school with a few mates.
3 - Move upto inters on some track days.
4 - Maybe sell the GSXR and go naked - MT10, XSR900, hypermotard

1) buy some leathers
2) do a track day school
3) if I love it, which I imagine I will, start saving for a track bike of my own

failing that

1) buy a Suzuki RM250 like the model sat on my desk dirt bike and find some lanes outside of London to have some fun on

2017 goals:

1. Do something with my old Fireblade - either sell it, or do some basic mods to make it more track focused, either way it can't continue to gather dust.

2. Polish up my off road skills with ome sort of coure..leading to:

3. Go to the Pyrenees on my Enduro bike and do some trail riding.

4. Find time, and put some more miles on my S1000

I'm gonna try to be less grumpy on here and with people face too face.

New road bike for next year.

Use my track bike more than I did this year.

Do at least one trackday, I had donington booked for March this year but cancelled due to bad weather so I've got a bit of credit with no limits to use up.

Do a bit of touring in Europe over summer. Preferably camping and just riding nice twisties every day. Need to fit a taller screen to the Tuono to do this or I think my neck will break!

Buy an enduro bike.

To start riding again! Have only ever done my CBT and that was some 7-8 years ago. The new plan is settled, I won't ride on the road again so going for trackdays only.

Stage 1 is a visit to Ron Haslams school and do the on track experience most likely aboard a CBR300, and then either return to Haslams for the premier on CBR600's or go to a novice trackday hiring a sub 600cc bike from Smallboy (they've just sold their KTM RC390 but are getting something else beginner friendly to replace it with).

Apart from that, I want to try to get to a few more BSB rounds and a few more bike shows.

For 2017 i'd much like to do the following; number four will be pushing it though with the OH

1, Take the KTM Supermoto R out of the garage more (1600 miles this year, which is poor effort)
2, Buy a 2 piece leather and try a novice track day
3, Go on a north west PH ride out if one is arranged (looked at doing this last couple years but bottled it)
4, Buy full kit for my eldest daughter as she ask's me weekly if can come out on the bike with me.

Yes that first bit sounds like a good idea. The rest is just goddamn lies.

We should organise a Scotch run out next year as well by the way. The first one to Oban was decent, I don't know why none of us did it again.

Lots of good quality cheap kit kit on eBay if you take a little while looking. I got a 2 piece all around zip BKS leather suit in very good condition for my son for £35!

for me my plans ( that I hope i get time and money to do ) is:

Get the H2 on track.
Get the H2 on the dyno, and get more power
And after above hit a GPS 200MPH on it. On a air field of course. Vmax type stuff

And of course not to die or injury myself while doing the above. And enjoying biking

That's a good shout, I will bear that in mind for the beginning of the year. Likely hood is though I won't take her on the bike until the weather is dry and spot on conditions as she will be new to it all.

1: Not fall off
2: Do more than 1 track day a year
3: Go to Scotland
4: Buy a second bike for cruising around on.
5: Do more than 2000 miles in a year.

Nothing spectacular there really.
