2. IOM TT Race week, again not crashing over the mountain section
2. Done it, got wet, still loved it, didnt crash
Did you get up the mountain section this year? Tried so many times, but it was always closed.
I know was unreal how much it was closed in the first 2 days of sun. Rest was rain.

I managed 5 runs, the one below trying the gopro on the lid but it was just as it opened and damp

https://youtu.be/BWIvuQ3J2jE

And one the day I got there 2nd time over so videod it but the poxy camera mount partially cracked so it's really shaky... I'm lucky the gopro didn't fall off

This was my only quick one

https://youtu.be/epexex5ZG_c

I don't speed much past 50mph until the national. Alot don't respect that bit but I try and keep the 3 digit stuff on national only

Buy / build a campervan that can take the bike for weekend's away.
Get my ACU license again and do a couple of races (endurance preferred to sprint)
Euro trackdays at Castolloli, Spa, Hungaroring and something else.
UK trackday somewhere - Donington / Oulton / Anglesey?
Watch road racing at TT and Chimay.
Poss long weekend ride to & from Brno MotoGP.
Reinstate the yearly thrap round Wales.
Watch less racing on telly - waste of many a sunny Sunday.
Got a new job that gives me a freebie van. Win win.
Didn't bother getting my ACU licence again - fail.
Did Euro trackdays at Castelloli, Spa & Estoril. Yay!
Did a great day at Donington.
Went to the TT. Didn't manage Chimay - will try again in 2018.
Failed dismally riding to a foreign MotoGP.
Never got round to a hoon through Wales. Too busy buying a house.
Still watched too much racing on telly wasting nice sunny Sundays.
Crashed a bit too much! wink
Been to Chimay a few times,we'll worth a trip in 2018
Went to Gedinne in Aug, probably a better circuit and definitely a better beer tent !!

2017 goals are:

1) Get my sons SS50 gearbox sorted and get him on the road in the spring;
2) Get my R100CS MoT'd and back on the road to get a few miles on it this summer;
3) Do the Old Gits trip to Provence in France in June and enjoy the Route Napoleon/Route des Grand Alpes etc.;
4) Do another year commuting into London without killing one or more other road users;
Well, I managed 1, 3 & 4. 3 out of 4 is not too bad a success rate!

1) buy some leathers
2) do a track day school
3) if I love it, which I imagine I will, start saving for a track bike of my own

failing that

1) buy a Suzuki RM250 like the model sat on my desk dirt bike and find some lanes outside of London to have some fun on
1 - nope
2 - nope
3 - nope

failing that

1 - nope

Useless.

Thats one of them yes. There's two who I ride with every week. Not sure if you met this guy? Italian fella but quite dark skinned so we say he's Mexican

The other guy is the big bloke with the beard. Think that's who you see at Finch

1) Ride (a lot) more than 1 track-day and a day on country roads (2016)
2) Trackday at Assen with my mates.
3) Possibly sell the SP-1 after that, if I haven't fallen in love with it yet.
4) Get a very light bike to practice wheelieing
5) Keep the Vespa. It doesn't cost anything and the Mrs. likes it.
Nope, Yes, Yes, Nope, Nope.

1) try and complete a full seasons racing without getting seriously injured (as has happened the past 2 seasons...)
2) buy the new Fireblade at the end of the year
3) go back to Mugello for a track day
1) didn’t get injured but didn’t get as many races in as I’d like to due to work commitments. Will make up for that next year
2) got a BMW instead
3) was booked on but missed it due to work again... next year!

3) Do a 2 day off road course.
4) At least one 4 day run around the Highlands and Islands.
Rebuilt the CBR but didn't manage to get to the track on it.

I'm done for this year however.

Yeah. Stuck a new engine in it after I put a rod through the top of the block (my fault). Needed a new radiator, and countless other bits when I was done. In all honesty it runs better than it ever did and even has a fresh tyre to sit in the shed, but the reality is it's 18 years old old, 35K+, with a soggy front end, so still not sure about the track.

It wasn't worth the time or effort, and the bodywork looks like st, but that's what we do eh?

I bought a 1995 F3 earlier this year for just over £500, bloody thing has been a nightmare to get running properly, and I'll probably make about 10p on it when I come to finally sell it, but I've enjoyed messing about with it and it's got my lad involved and off the Xbox!

I can see why Honda shifted so many of them, they're a nice bike to ride.

Yeah not sure about the touring credentials to be honest! It is good to work on though.

I'm ste on the track so it would be fine in a sorted state, it would still be fun for me now but the front suspension still hinders enjoyment.

I've looked at plastics but having spent £600 and countless hours, on a bike that with all my efforts is worth £800 and I do not need, I'm loathed to spend another £280 on plastics, £100 on springs and fluid, and another 8 hours working on it when I have two other fully functional bikes, and a family which I'd rather spend my time with, and an off road course I'm desperate to get out with.

I would track the CBR on a novice/sessioned event with a van on standby maybe. Until I have the bottle to track the GSXR.

That's the problem with what seems like a cheap "winter project" mine is now worth about as much as I've put in to it and there are dozens of better bikes than mine for sale. But it was piece of crap when I bought it and it now looks half decent and I've enjoyed improving it and stuff like sourcing bits of bodywork off eBay. As it stands me at less than a grand I think I'll just keep it. I'm now strangely attached to it!

Yep that's how I feel with my '£1100' k6 750 track bike. It very much DOES NOT owe me that now!

Rare to buy cheap and get a genuine bargain without ANY problems

Not as exciting or as glamourous as most but my goals are to

1) finish resto on Raleigh Chopper (frame away for blasting/painting now)!

2)Sort carburation/set up on RD500.

3)Replace GSXR with a mint, more upright bike for as little over £1,500 as possible.

4) Do more miles on the KR1 in 2017..(not much over 100 this year)

5)Get as many rides in with my Dad as possible.
Forgot all about this thread, was a great idea to bring it up again, seems most of us have achieved what we wanted to.

1) was done in style and "joining" the Chopper boys n girls has proved to be a great laugh.

2) I wish....engine rebuild required..only taken 2 years of pi$$ing about.

3) Firestorm has proved to be great buy, just used it and put fuel in it, now requires some servicing for next year thou.

4) Done around the same but plan to do get it at home next year.

5) That I have, hopefully we can venture further afield in 2018.
